Grammarly uses 2 main components throughout its entire user onboarding experience - walkthroughs and modals.
It's a classic example of how a PLG company can keep the user experience simple and lean yet drive massive value for its users.
This lean approach has multiple advantages:
It helps the product design team use standard components that are built once.
It reduces user overwhelm by making them accustomed to the same components
It keeps the UX consistent & associates a component with a particular function
For Grammarly, both modals & walkthroughs help users hit activation rate fas ..read more

Hey everyone! I'm Vlad, I run Usatii Media. We're a growth agency based in New York & London. Today I was scrolling Reddit and I keep seeing people complaining about really bad CRM tools and dashboards for communicating with clients. My agency recently decided to make the switch to a more unique value proposition. We want to build businesses custom web platforms that:
Allow clients to upload files for social media creatives
Let clients pay, see past invoices, see notes, see content calendars, see analytics, etc.
Allows clients to refer directly from the platform and let other people see ..read more

Hey everyone,
I'm working on understanding the importance of competitor analysis for B2B SaaS products and I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I personally have done competitor analysis, but not as frequently as I would have hoped (lack of time, other focus areas, etc). And most of it was manual. Wondering how the rest of the SaaS world is doing this.
I have created a short anonymous survey (should take less than 5 mins) to get your thoughts. I could have made this an open ended post instead of a survey, but that would lead to multiple follow up questions and make extracting key themes really har ..read more

Hey,
I currently have 0 users
I am building an AI SaaS, Cheatsheet (https://cheatsheet.to)
Currently, I have planned to onboard only paid users at a small price of $2/month/user
And avoid free users from the fear of them diverting my feedback loop in the wrong direction
But yesterday, a user said that he wanted the product a lot, but is broke and can't pay
As I have 0 users, and no one for any feedback, should I onboard him? Or avoid?

I have a travel startup. We have been using various solutions for lead management, accounting and invoicing lately but now we are done with managing and transferring data across numerous tools. It becomes difficult to track the lead data, updates, efficiency of the team and we want to streamline everything from lead management to lead updates, accounts, invoicing, meta, email and whatsapp integrations.
Please suggest solutions.

Which of these would you prefer from a growth test….
Experiment 1:
Month 1: +421 leads
Month 2: +8 leads
Month 3: +12 leads
Experiment 2:
Month 1: +8 leads
Month 2: +28 leads
Month 3: +87 leads
To me experiment one shows the capacity to launch, which is important, but then I don’t see real traction/fit.
Experiment two shows velocity. I would take experiment two all day. In a year it’s going to be ahead 9/10 times.
You want a channel you can scale and systemize.
I think this is where teams, especially startups, tend to screw up.
They have these target goals, be it MQLs or leads or qualified pi ..read more

New founder here, looking for guidance on organic website traffic/SEO :D!
My start up is a brand new category in a boring and complicated industry to break in through, we are a Mortgage Inspector, here is some context:
When you buy a car, you get a CarFax, when you buy a home, you get a home inspection, but when you apply for a mortgage, rates change all the time and there is no convenient way of finding out if you are getting screwed, so we built the first mortgage inspector.
Anyways, mortgage is obviously dominated by the giants of the industry that I will likely never outspend in paid mark ..read more
