As of this writing, I have created over 160 Kahoot games for my students.  There are lots of reasons to love Kahoot.  Not only is it great review and fun for kids, but it is wonderful for get an overview of how well your class understands a skill. Without question, Kahoot is a staple in my classroom and something we play daily. A Fun Way to Practice Ordering Numbers and Number Forms

I have a bit of an addition to game based learning websites.  I use Kahoot almost daily.  I use Quizizz several times a month.  Lately I've been tinkering with the new kid on the block - GimKit.  My students love it.  Here is a game I created to review fractions. I always like to think of the develop of development and polish on edutech as stages of life.  Gimkit is young and full of energy and ideas, but is lacking in some polish.  Making games in Gimkit is a little clunky and unnecessarily time consuming compared to other formats.  Nonetheless, where G ..read more

So I saw this meme come through on Facebook and found myself shouting loudly, "YES!"   One of the most frustrating problems I experienced with  distance learning was that some students were trying to simply do the assignment before doing any of the activities leading up to it. Predictably, this led to them often failing the assessment.
