The New York Rangers rolled into the (real) Garden last night and outplayed the Boston Bruins on Causeway Street, skating to a 5-2 win over the (still) leading team in the Eastern Conference. The Rangers didn’t have to do much to secure this one as the Bruins rolled over and showed their tummies after the first intermission. The Blueshirts were without their captain, Jacob Trouba as he was serving another suspension ducking Trent Frederic still coming back from an injury, which lends no truth to the rumour that he had the “Bruins Flu” as was reported by some outlets. But don’t worry Rags fans ..read more

If you told me at the start of the season that we would be sitting on March 19th in a playoff spot I probably would have laughed at you and said I am looking forward to a high draft pick, but somehow someway our pesky Washington Capitals were sellers at the deadline losing guys like Kuzy, Mantha, and Edmundson and this team couldn’t look better I thinking the biggest thing is giving our young guys more ice time and confidence that we trust them. Now lets take you to Monday night in Calgary where the Capitals bested the Flames 5-2 in a convincing win. On this road trip the Caps have gone 3-2-0 ..read more

Islanders Looking to Avoid Turning Their Winning Streak into a Losing Streak

A new team has sneakily entered the Islanders radar for the race to a playoff spot. The Islanders followed up the loss to LA, the end of the 6-game winning streak, in a major battle against the Buffalo Sabres last night. I had admittedly forgotten about the Sabres since the All-Star break considering the Islanders long struggle with so many other teams. Alas, that didn’t matter as they welcomed us in to shut us out 4-0 in one of the more important games in this run. The Islanders had a chance to dampen the flame of the rising Atlantic underdogs, but failed to do so in a rather poor display. I ..read more

Washington Capitalizes on Kraken Mistakes

Thursday night the boys from D.C. headed down to Seattle to face the Kraken who have had their number as of late in the Emerald City. It was an uneventful 1st period and it felt like both teams were playing timid because no one wanted to make the first mistake. It was nice to see Miroshnichenko throwing the body around tonight but aside from that the 1st was a snoozer. It wasn’t till late in the 2nd with the Caps on the power-play when the Seattle goalie and former Sun Devil Joey Daccord made the bone head play of the night. Daccord played the puck to the left of the goal and went to clear it ..read more

Capitals get their Oil Spilt in Edmonton

Whelp folks not the way we wanted to start the road trip getting smoked by McDavid and Co. with the final of 7-2. With the high powered offense that is McDavid and Draisaitl any game against Edmonton will be a test and push any defense to the limit. The Oilers got on the board first on a masterful display of powerplay puck movement that made our defense look like a peewee team, Kuemper had zero chance lets be honest. Draisaitl had two great chances and he made sure not to miss on the second try. If at first you don't succeed, Drai, Drai again pic.twitter.com/LD6Y6reZmj — Edmonton Oilers (@Ed ..read more

Good morning Panthers fans. To the superstitious fans out there, for $100/game I will turn off the TV and go to bed whenever the Panthers are losing and look lifeless because that is exactly what happened last night. For the first 50 minutes, Dallas seemed to take it to the Sunshine State Cats. The Panthers were giving up odd-man rushes and looking outclassed in their own defensive zone. Whether it be the first goal, where Joe Pavelski was on a 2-0 with Robertson, or the other multiple defensive zone break downs. The game could have easily been 4-0 at the end of the first period as the Panther ..read more

The Florida Panthers made a splash on deadline day, acquiring the explosive winger Vladimir Tarasenko and the veteran center Kyle Okposo from the Senators and Sabres respectively. This bold move has sent shockwaves through the NHL, leaving fans and analysts alike questioning its impact on the Panthers’ championship aspirations. Let’s dissect this trade and see if it makes the Panthers purr with satisfaction or leave them scratching their heads. Tarasenko’s Arrival: A Shot of Offensive Firepower, But Can He Stay Healthy? There’s no denying Tarasenko’s offensive prowess. The former Blues winger ..read more

Your Northeastern Huskies traveled to the home of the UConn “other” Huskies today for the Women’s Hockey East Championship. The season series favored UConn as they beat NU 2x back in early November, but then lost a shootout to our heroes at Historic Matthews Arena in February. This was the match that everyone had wanted to see. Nothing better than seeing the top 2 seeds in Hockey East square off against each other with the title on the line. UConn was looking for their first ever Championship and Northeastern was hoping to add a 7th consecutive title to their record setting run. This time arou ..read more

Like a 20 year old college kid addicted to their vape pen, Doug Armstrong has serious commitment issues.

2pm CST today marked the passing of the NHL trade deadline. Unless you’re Vegas blatantly circumventing the salary cap using LTIR players, the roster you have today is what you’re rolling with until a new champion of Lord Stanley is crowned. What it also marked though, is that it may be time for Blues owner Tom Stillman to make a tough decision regarding Doug Armstrong. Not because we’re the worst team in the league, not because Doug can’t build an elite team (he’s done both), but because he is committed to not committing to either. The last 3-4 seasons the elite core group that brought us ou ..read more

March of the ?enguins pic.twitter.com/8SgCJi3FV6 — Washington Capitals (@Capitals) March 8, 2024 Whenever the Caps and Pens meet its always a battle and potential playoff matchup upcoming, but as of right now it is looking like both teams will miss the playoffs and are sellers at the trade deadline. Tommy Wilson got the boys on the board first on a nice shorthanded 2 v 1 rush and nice pass from Malenstyn, Wilson fired one on net then smack the rebound out of the air and into the goal talk about hand eye coordination. The headed into the 1st intermission with a 1-0 lead. Willy decided to g ..read more
