Since 2015, I’ve worn one and the same backpack. After more than three years now it all came to an end. My daily companion was unable to join me on my journeys any longer and I had to search for a replacement. When the company Harold’s contacted me, I couldn’t resist going back to traditions. I got a leather backpack. And I’m proud to say that I love my non-vegan product. Why? Read more below. This post is about my vision about materials and the latest trend of vegan replacements as well as a PR sample gifted to me by Harold’s. Sustainable fashion and choosing the right alternative is a compl ..read more

Summer in Sweden - an outfit diary
kim's öko life

Dear summer, you've been incredibly good to me. You've asked me to be my purest self and that has reflected in my outfits. Occasionally you dared me to discover a different Kim; the yellow fox was born. I feel grateful for all the people I've met, the connections I've made the clothes I was gifted. Experiencing tropical heats in the Nordics wasn't always fun nor easy, - but it did make me realize that this world needs a change. Climate change exposes us to extreme conditions such as heat waves in the Nordics that harm mother earth. Anyways, I'm not writing to complain about it. Summer, you gif ..read more

Pure nostalgia. One of my favourite moments of 2018 has so far been standing on stage of Copenhagen Fashion Summit. It's been quite an experience to attend the worlds leading event for sustainability and fashion. Let's together indulge in reminiscences.  What is Copenhagen Fashion Summit? President and CEO Eva Kruse To me it has been the event I was looking up to for a while. Over the last nine years, Copenhagen Fashion Summit (CFS) has successfully established itself as the leading event on sustainability in the fashion industry. CEOs, CSOs (Chief Sustainability Officer) and decision m ..read more

Here we are, celebrating the results of a fun weekend in Berlin, the fact that I am able to collaborate with the label and feel more body positive than a year ago.   "The fashion industry is a dirty bastard. We don’t like it that way. We believe i ..read more

10x10. How to live with less clothes. A decluttering attempt
kim's öko life
by Kim Goes Öko

Buying my clothes consciously does not necessarily mean that I own less. That's the naked truth. I still love dressing up, having a choice what to pick in the mornings and playing around with the items. For now, it's about time to declutter and become aware of all I own. And what's better than joining a style challenge based on 10 items? (c) Viktor Holm "Fashion has always been a means of communicating. It's a memory of how it brought me and my grandmother closer together. It also created ties between me and my dad. I remember how he loved dressing me up for our Sunday walks. I love fashion a ..read more

My Copenhagen Fashion Week review This year, I've aimed to have the full experience of the whole glamorous fashion world. That resulted in Kim running around like a headless chicken to grasp the true and original vibe. Runway shows, afterparties and more runway shows the next day. And there have been some observations I have made. People are assertive and to some extends over-confident in being a fashion person. Little eye contact and interaction, pure focus and fixation on themselves. I've seen people sitting in the front row, texting all the time and not even respecting the designers work ..read more

Attending INNATEX for the first time so far, here are insights on what I discovered newly, what I enjoyed the most and what I honestly did not like... What the heck is Innatex? INNATEX is an international trade fair for sustainable textiles, which in addition to clothing also includes other products, such as baby clothing, accessories, home textiles and fabrics. The convention stretches over three big industrial halls in Germany and hosts loads of seller twice a year.  Not having the chance to be at Berlin Fashion Week this year, I was quite excited to, for the first time, enjoy Innatex ..read more
