The once ubiquitous, once upon a time Standard, the Dixon Ticonderoga! Five-six bucks a pack on eBay for American pencils in quantities of 6 packs. Outstanding. I generally prefer the white boxed ones -- perfect ferrule, no longer with pooled green paint. Full on-iconic. The old ferrules tend to snap off from pencil shrinkage (or something like that) and corrosion. I'm not a metal expert but looks like copper.
