Hello everybody,
I have been diagnosed with ‘schizophrenia spectrum disorder’ and OCD and I’m wondering if anyone else is constantly worried about something to the point where it feels off/unsettling if I’m NOT worried/paranoid/overthinking about something? I’m taking Olanzapine at the moment, it seemed to have reduced the overthinking a little bit but it hasn’t gotten rid of it entirely. What are your experiences with this symptom and its response to medications?

A relative with mental illness will be released from jail with charges being dropped. This is the 2nd time they been in the cycle of homeless to jail to psych hospital. For those who have been successful, what were biggest change agents that helped you? *Person is estranged from family/ friends *Person has rejected homeless shelters and has discontinued pursuing section 8 process due to paranoia that social worker misue identity info and delusion that they have more options ex casual coworker left them money in will rather than to family

I’ve posted about my experience in other subs but didn’t want to post it here in case it’s against the rules.
About two years ago I had weird symptoms start slowly, but I had a decent amount of insight (some days were worse than others). Then at the end of that year I lost most of the insight. I still knew I shouldnt be thinking the way I was but I was fully convinced of my delusions, I ended up quitting my job because I thought I would be killed there.
Now I’m starting to have those subtle suspicions again, but I have a ton of insight that this isn’t normal. I still can’t shake them unfortun ..read more

I take two tablets of Zyprexa, but sometimes I heard people with schizophrenia in need of hospitalization.
Under what circumstances are patients with schizophrenia admitted to hospital?
Is it because of a loss of control or an inability to distinguish between reality and fantasy?
Thanks for reply

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to see how those of you with schizophrenia who are also workaholics manage your workload and downtime.
I've been juggling two jobs along with an IT project for the last few months. Often, I've found myself working up to 14 hours a day and going for a month without any days off. Honestly, I can't recall the last time I took a vacation, and it's been particularly challenging given my role.
I've been dealing with this condition since I was 16, and now at 29, I face monthly flare-ups and burnouts every one and a half months. I heavily rely on antipsychotics for st ..read more

Ignore the negative intrusive thoughts
Dont listen to them, don't even acknowledge they exist, they are nothing
Don't let their words or the feelings they send have effect on anything you do. their influence is void and worthless
If they persist to grab your attention, start focusing on the outside world, what can you see, hear, smell, feel, taste?
Remind the thoughts that bother you that they are nothing but the inside world and that what's outside of your head is real and not for them, the sources of those thoughts might as well be AI generated
Pay attention to the outside world, start with ..read more

Do you have this issue? That even on Reddit there is nothing to write about? I scroll a lot on my feed and wouldn't add anything to the topics I see. The almost only subreddit I post in is related to the illness. I also talk very little. I have hobbies but feeling constantly bored.
