So I have a template that has most of the things arranged for me, but not mixed. Even though I have buss channels with the processing plugins on it which are off and I tweak them after I wrote all the melodies/harmonies/arranged everything. I change a few sounds/drum samples/ fx's whenever I start a new track. Would it be fine to leave the fifth of the bass in the sub bass? (the G harmonic of the bass if the C was the actual note of the bass). Or should a sub bass just be a pure sine wave without any other harmonics? Should the sub bass be there for all of the drop or should I cut it off and on? I've tried listening to professional artists and from what I can tell the sub bass seems like it's going off and on?
