Today I had an appointment with my epilepsy specialist and resident doctor and told them I was nervous about covid-19. They were both reasonable people but my epilepsy specialist told me try not to worry. My spouse had it before it was announced to be in Canada and I felt like such a bad caretaker.

I know that the term self care is a buzz word these days. I learned about it almost a decade ago, but didn’t think a ton of it. Right now though, I am practicing “aggressive self care” as I had an injury last week and am still feeling post-ictal.
The things I am doing to help practice Aggressive Self Care are:
one to two chores a day
Yoga
rest
Watching ongoing episodes of The Office.
This seems to be helping, as I am only capable of so much, I am not seeing any friends this week, except for a close friend yesterday. Even then, I was cranky and swearing as I did the dishes. My friend has ne ..read more

Hey friends! Sorry I have been busy with other projects.
I guess that happens though, right?
I have been reflecting on being home bound due to my massive seizure in December. I am a very extroverted individual, and love the energy of other people to get me excited about life. When I lived with my parents, my dad strongly encouraged me to spend more time alone.
What was this? Spend more time alone? I followed his suggestion though and sat alone in a Starbucks reading and writing for at least three hours. At that time it felt like a chore. One more thing to tick off my to-do list. At that time ..read more
