I am a 20 yo guy. One thing about me is my love for the trumpet. It is such an incredible and beautiful instrument. I have played it since middle school.
My freshman year of high school I joined the band, and there was this upper classman (Daniel let’s say) that really took me under his wing. This guy was a go-getter, drum major and best trumpet in the school. He saw my talent in the trumpet and offered me lessons.
Daniel eventually graduated and I filled in his void of the band, becoming to lead trumpet, winning an awesome jazz award and mentoring others to love the trumpet equally so. I am ..read more

I heard this today watching a show on TV and I hadn’t thought about it in years.
“My parents thought I was just going through a phase”.
It got me to thinking, where did this come from? I’ve heard this “explanation” for being gay all of my life in different ways (I’m 43).
But I have never once met a straight person what went through a gay phase.
Anyone have any insight on where this odd explanation came from? The history behind it?

So I gotta start off by saying I'm a 30 yr old big black guy.
Texting my new coworker wife and she goes " Bruh I love your taste of music but are you sure you're black?"
This hit me like a ton of bricks because my last work wifey said the same thing. I can't help that my ADHD ass goes from Jazz, Hip hop to EDM.
So It started with us sending Janet Jackson to RuPaul etc. I dropped Wax, Shotgun willy, NSP, Carter Vail and a few others and this made her think of dudes she used to flirt with before wife got serious. Am I old, basic or just not a black as I thought I was?
