I started taking magnesium supplements about a year ago and gave up after about 3 weeks and noticing no difference in attacks.
Fast forward to 2024 I started with a new supplement and have been consistent with it for months and I must say it actually has made a difference. It’s 100% not a cure all but I’m down to about 6-7 attacks a month (from about 10 sometimes more) AND I noticed a difference in the severity of the attacks I haven’t had a truly debilitating one in months.
Last week I traveled to Mexico and usually travel especially to warm climates is a major trigger. By the time I get to ..read more

I was placed on a low dose of topirimate and found I was having too many side effects including cloudy urine. We did tests and kidney function showed fine, but we decided to have me go off of it anyway. I am about a week and a half off of topirimate and I am still having ocassional cloudy urine. Prior to topirimate I NEVER had cloudy urine. I drink a ton of water. Will it ever go away?

In two weeks, I am leaving for a trip to go to Wisconsin and Michigan. I will be gone for a week. I get migraines sometimes in the middle of the night and I don’t want to disrupt other people sleeping because I will be at someone else’s house. What are some snacks that I should consider or some foods that I should consider in case I do need to eat in the middle of the night for a migraine? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This has always been the case for me, with spring and fall being the absolute worst times for my migraines, but the last couple of weeks I’ve been having an attack pretty much constantly, with just a few hours of relief in between. I’ve only had one other migraine attack last this long and I can’t remember what triggered that one. Does anyone else have more frequent attacks during allergy season? If so, does taking something like Claritin help prevent it?

More like a vent, but title says it all. I was ready to go but not like this. Added stress I definitely didn’t need right now.

Hi, everyone I have never posted on Reddit so this will be my first time but I'm in pain. My headache is on my left side of my forehead just above my eyebrow. It started on day at work while I bent over to pick something up I felt like a stab on my forehead. It happened a couple of days like that. Then one day I woke up with the ache on that same place the pain does come and go and painkillers do work but for a couple of hours until the effect wears off. I went to the doc and got prescribed sumatriptan and toradol for the pain. The triptan does nothing just makes my stomach feel bloated. The ..read more

I heard this many times in my life and my first reaction is to think "oh, if only that's all it was" but I am genuinely too tired to react much. A coworker of mine hit me with this line last week after I was out sick for 4 days. I know she had the right intention behind the comment because she's an insanely sweet and empathetic person. I just don't think she fully understands all the symptoms that fall under the migraine umbrella. I just smiled and thanked her for thinking of me but part of me was disheartened that, once again migraineand headache were treated as interchangeable.

I'm just curious. I know what happens with too much acetaminophen and nsaids. But I don't really understand the way CGRPs work still. And I had such a a bad migraine today that the max ubrelvy didn't fully work. (Which it usually does for me). So what happens if you take say a third 100mg in 24 hours? (Again, I promise I won't. I switched to Midrin and went to bed.)
