Hello,
Would anyone be so kind to give me some graphic design advice on some of my work I finished up recently for our final review.
CONTEXT: In this project as was assigned the typology of a utility corridor. I had the task of creating 2 plans, 2 sections, 2 detailed sections and 2 models of this typology before and after a change. I decided on a change from a pine stand to a pine stand that has been cut for the installation of transmition towers. Then, we were asked to incorporate a room into this space that builds off of the spatial qualities of our typology. I won't go into detail her ..read more

I’m a graduating landscape architecture student in the Philippines. But I want to work in Las Vegas after grad.
Would that be possible? What is the process of obtaining license in the US?

I’m a Landscape Designer for a small firm, they are very known for doing work for politicians and celebrities in the area. I make 53k. Do you think this is a good salary? I’ve worked here for a year. Realistically speaking I don’t think that’s a lot especially for the type of people we work for also the area we are in. My billing rates for clients is ($175 per hour) UPDATE JUST CHECKED THEY ARE HIRING NEW PEOPLE STARTING SALARY 65k

Hi y'all! Clueless BF of a landscape designer here, just wanted to know if anyone's noticed any trends or down-ticks in the LA job market lately?
Last year she had to leave a firm due to workplace harassment issues and has been out of a job since unfortunately. I've been trying to help her with finding different sites and resources for job postings, editing her resume, etc. but it seems to be pretty dry lately :(
We're in the East Coast area if that helps but I'm just wondering if this is something usual for LAs around this time of year or is the market just dog right now?
Thank you!

Im looking into a landscape architecture degree and was wondering, in your experience how accurate is this description from ASLA?
“Landscape architects plan and design with nature to help all communities reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate. Landscape architects use climate positive design approaches that transform parks and open spaces into natural carbon sinks. They develop resilient nature-based solutions that reduce the impacts of extreme heat; coastal, ground, and inland flooding; sea level rise; pollution; and wildfires. They also increase biodiversity and pro ..read more

Hey guys, I recently got off the waitlist for Berkeley’s MLA program and am now debating to choose between UPenn and Berkeley.
There are many things about UPenn that attract me, like UPenn’s faculty seemed a lot more involved and has a lot more research opportunities but I am having a hard time convincing myself that it is worth spending nearly 200k for grad school, especially since after the scholarship UPenn gave me, Berkeley is still at least 20k cheaper if adding all the expenses together. I also would prefer to live and work in the West Coast after graduation.
Any Penn/Berkeley alumni’s ..read more

Hey all, I know it is way too early for April LARE results, but I was poking around in my CLARB account. I noticed it doesn’t even say or note my most recent attempt. Will it only show up after it has been graded?
I’m nervous because I had a testing error when I took the exam and the proctoring location had to fix my test session. I can’t remember how it shows up before results are posted when I took it previously. Do I have nothing to worry about here? The 4-6 weeks waiting are rough as it is!

I am looking for any online design courses that will help me be better at my job.
I fell into landscape design after stepping away from my career in veterinary medicine/becoming a SAHM. It has allowed me to make income in my free time. It also helped that my husband owns a landscape company.
Anyway, I do not have formal training of any sort. I am self educated but feel that I need/want more. I really want to learn to be more artistic/whimsical etc with my designs for hardscapes/landscapes.
I use a CAD type program called RealArchitect by Spectrum (?). I am pretty comfortable with it. I am als ..read more
