The end of an era

I know, I know I haven’t written on here in what feels like forever however this is very deserved of a post and it took a while to work out what I wanted to say however it has been sat in my drafts for months! I’m talking about the early retirement of the Queen of the Skies, the Jumbo, the Boeing 747. Whatever you call this aircraft I’m sure you’ll agree with me that it’s a sad way for this aircraft to retire out of the Team Red and Team Blue fleet. As we all know Team Red started off with a 747 and became very famous for it. My first ever flight on a 747 was a Team Red one, MAN-MCO my Mum an ..read more

I got an email from Nick last night asking if he could write a post for my blog about our trip to Seattle… think he’s bored out there on his own! Obviously I said yes so here is Nick’s account of our amazing Seattle trip!! Hello from Seattle, I’ve pinched a section of Lindzze’s blog to fill some time in whilst I’m stuck alone in my South Renton Marriott, needless to say I’m pretty bored and have decided to write this. To give a little background I’m out here on a course at a certain aircraft manufacturer, no prizes for guessing which and Seattle has been my home for the past 6 days and another ..read more

So Spring is finally here. The beautiful flowers are starting to pop out and my April roster is here although I’m posting this a bit late but life (again)! I didn’t get my requests for April so it’s a bit of a boring month however this is a good thing as a I have my annual exams coming up this month so short repetitive trips means I can revise and won’t be tempted to go out!!  My flights are literally Orlando, Atlanta, Orlando, Atlanta with SEP and then a 4 night Vegas at the end of the month (which I 100% need to get off).  April will be a mega exciting month for Nick and I but all ..read more

Where in the world am I going… March

I know it’s March tomorrow, but I have been quite busy! Anyway for those who don’t know, March and the rest of the summer will be spent flying out of Manchester. This is my choice as I live a lot closer to Manchester than Heathrow so this cuts my commute down which is helpful for me! March is quite a quiet month still, even though it starts with the summer schedule. I start the month off with a 2 night trip to Barbados, I’m excited for a bit of sun but I never feel comfortable in summer clothes (I love winter)! This trip does land back into Gatwick which is annoying, however I’ve booked my tra ..read more

What you don’t know about being cabin crew

You might not read many posts like this but I’m 100% sure it’s something that needs to be shared. The life of cabin crew isn’t all about being glamorous, I mean it’s a big part, as they say we’re the face of the airline but it’s not all heels and lipstick. Our Instagram accounts may be filled with beautiful sunsets, beaches, amazing cities and those uniform selfies but our trolley dolly life isn’t all sunshine and cocktails, it can be pretty lonely. I’ve mentioned this in my previous post about Applications and interviews for cabin crew but I felt it needed more. I can guarantee that ..read more

Hello!! This post has been a long time coming and I apologise for that! Last year in November I had some time off work so, Nick and I decided to have a wintery break to the wonderful city of Copenhagen. We booked our flights and hotel through British Airways (yes the enemy some might say but my other half works for them so sometimes we do use them) we even treated ourselves to Club Europe on our flights for those extra Avios points, plus it meant we could try out the lounge in terminal 5! After eating a quick breakfast in the lounge we made our way to the gate ready for our 06:40am (yawn) flig ..read more

The Cabin Crew application and interview stage

I’ve had quite a few questions asked in regards to interview tips and also application mistakes. First thing I’d say is that you might not get it on your first attempt, it took me 2 times with my current airline before I got the job and that doesn’t bother me at all! It shows that at the time I probably wasn’t ready and needed to work on myself. I worked on the ground for a year and a half which improved my confidence so much and then took the plunge again, this time getting that golden email! On another note the lifestyle of Cabin Crew really isn’t for everyone, the one thing I’ve learnt and ..read more

Well my last Heathrow roster has arrived before I head back to Manchester for the summer and boy am I happy! Starting the month with a block of standby, for those that haven’t read my blogs before this is basically 4 days where I’m on call and I could be called anyway between the times of 12:00 and 18:00. I’ll try my best to pick up a flight before hand just to make my life easier with my commute. I’m then back to Miami, where I seemed to have spent all of December but it’ll be nice to head back and get some sun as well as visit my favourite cafe for some breakfast, News Cafe! I love this pla ..read more

Hello 2018 and so long 2017! I thought I’d do a little post of the amazing things from this year as well as what I’ve learnt! Nick and I have had a quite a few holidays this year both abroad and in the uk! The big ones were definitely New York in March for my birthday where we enjoyed the snow in Central Park and he begrudgingly took me to see Cats on Broadway (happy Lindzze). We’ve ticked another Concorde off our list at Intrepid which is a must when you’re in the big Apple! We’ve moved back up north after spending 2 years down south! It has been the best decision ever and I have loved livin ..read more

Well we somehow seem to be at the end of another year nearly. This year has gone super quick it’s made me realise to live everyday to the fullest!! Thought I’d share with you where I’m off to in January! Of course this can change as I may try and swap a trip or two etc. I’m starting the month off with a trip to Newark, haven’t done this trip in months in fact I can’t actually remember the last time so I’m looking forward to seeing this view again and taking a walk into Hoboken, obviously colder than when I took this photo! My next trip will see me back to Delhi, the flights might be hard work ..read more
