Elizabeth “Ann” Colwell has served with Monroe Harding for over 35 years and fostered over 100 kids! She’s adopted kids and even an adult. She feels that helping children thrive is her calling. Ann was inspired to foster by her sister, who was a foster parent with Monroe Harding. So, she decided to keep the tradition going as she, her mom, and sister all wanted to help children thrive. What Ann enjoys most is experiencing a child’s favorite activity with them. Seeing the appreciation on their face when you relish in what they love to do, is one of the most fulfilling emotions she’s experienced ..read more

Four-year-old Lexie is always ready for new adventures.  She is seemingly bursting with energy, enthusiasm, curiosity, and imagination.  When given the opportunity to become a hockey player, she was thrilled to say, “Yes!” She had never ice skated before, let alone played ice hockey, but that did not stop her.  Lexie has gotten out there on the ice during every practice and has given her best efforts to learn to play and to be a good team player.  Lexie really likes hockey but is torn on deciding just yet what she wants to be when she grows up.  She recently built a ro ..read more

When young Milani came to Ms. Caduff’s home she didn’t have any routine and was fearful of almost everything. She wasn’t used to taking baths, sleeping in a bed, or having her hair combed. Prior to arriving to Ms. Caduff’s home, Milani’s hair was not unbraided, washed, nor combed in nearly a year. Ms. Caduff and a friend sat on the floor and worked for hours to carefully undo each braid and detangle Milani’s hair. Milani sat still, ate her favorite snack, and watched the “Bubble Guppies” tv show while the two adults worked. By the end of the day, Milani’s hair was taken down, washed ..read more
