How well would a 22lr bolt action perform?

My main thing is, caliber issues aside, bolt actions are almost always better in SOME aspects. Bolt actions are usually lighter then semi autos mainly because they don't need to house gas systems and all that jazz. Bolt actions are more precise and accurate. This isn't to say that semi autos are not, alot of rifles can be fine tuned to be super God damn accurate but it usually requires alot of aftermarket tweaking which means money and every rifle is different. In my experience, bolt actions are alot more reliable regardless of the caliber. Add the 22lr in the mix, it just makes it that ..read more

I don't see there ever being an apocalypse, and I don't prepare. But I love to think about strategies and such. It's going to suck for me when I know what weapon I would take, don't have it submitted by /u/HolyShit_69420 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Disclaimer: These are just what I think would be cool. Obviously the people staying there would still need to have all their necessary provisions/gear. Some are based of Movies or TV shows or drunk 3am conversations at The Table. Oil Platform at sea. Secluded, good fishing, great view. Passenger Train parked inside of a mountain tunnel. Cozy, discreet, lots of rooms lots of doors. The White House. The previous owners have all been pretty paranoid and I’d wager they planned to stay comfy for whatever bad scenario might be killing their citizens. Omega Mart in Las Vegas. Hey Y’all, this sub tends to not be “ZombieSurvivalTactics” but “ZombieSurvivalKit”. I’m not one to complain about something and not offer a solution so here’s a few books that you should check out. If you have any additions please leave them below, one key area I am still looking for material that is digestible by the layman is on medical procedures. The Knowledge: How to Rebuild Civilization in the Aftermath of a Cataclysm by Lewis Dartnell. I would definitely start here as it lays a great foundation for the more in depth information in the following books. Backyard Foundry for Home Machini ..read more

This is more directed at the ones that don't currently farm or garden. Just out of curiosity, what is the plan? Large scale will require alot of work, diversity of crops and patience. All the equipment in the world is great but will require fuel. Large scale gardening seems like a better term to use, still alot of work. Assuming you can source all your seeds, water and man power....then what? Myself...It could be feasible as we currently do canning and preserving as well as raising animals and butchering. That being said unless you stock up on supplies for said activities, you will need items ..read more

So as a child I had this play set called Knex’s they are a building toy set that you can make a lot of things with. Well once I grew older into my late teens I was able to handle low caliber ammunition like .22 rounds. Well I was curious one day and put a .22 round into the hole of one of the connectors of my Knex’s set. It was a perfect fit literally… I wasn’t stupid enough to actually try to fire a live round in a gun made of brittle plastic. But I just had a thought right now. You can use these Knex’s sets to cast in metal. In the apocalypse there is plenty of scrap soda cans and bits and ..read more
