Spring Eyelet with Donna Morgan
They Call Her Smith

Hello!! My apologies for my lack of blogging, as of late – I’ve been leaning heavily on my Instagram for that (it’s just so much easier)! We just got back from the San Juan islands for our spring break, and I am strugggggling to get back in the game of Real Life. Wow. Hanging on by the tails, this week, I tell ya (pant, pant)!! I’m partnering with the ever lovely Donna Morgan for this post, and couldn’t love this eyelet beauty more!! The material is surprisingly soft, rendering it a swishy, spring dream to wear, and the fit is ultra flattering. I styled it two ways: a little dressy, and prim ..read more

My Valentines
They Call Her Smith

Happy Valentine’s Day, Loves!! My husband proposed to me nineteen years ago, today! I was still recovering from a bad case of pneumonia, and could barely stand up (I look deathly pale in all my engagement-day photos!). I feel terrible, because my husband went to such lengths that day. He had 50 roses delivered to me throughout the day by different people, with notes, explaining that each rose represented something in our relationship and future marriage. It was an all-day, meticulously thought-out affair – concluding with a fancy dinner (he scrapped the idea of dancing afterwards because ..read more

Pre-Holiday Party Shenanigans
They Call Her Smith

Whew! Merry Christmas Aftermath! Christmas evening, I looked over the sea of strewn toys, to the sprawled-out, PJ-clad bodies of our children watching a Christmas movie, and caught my husband’s eye… I mouthed with wide eyes, “We did it. I can’t believe it!! We actually pulled it off!!” We air high-fived with big, goofy grins, and everything. In two weeks’ time, we managed to move out, move in, finish some big paint projects, get doorknobs on, avoid a few potential plumbing disasters, decorate for Christmas, buy and wrap gifts, and host a couple of little family get togethers. Those air high-fi ..read more

All I Want for Christmas
They Call Her Smith

Truly. These four, little munchkins, and the Love of My Life, are all I want for Christmas. I’ve kinda felt like a single mama the past several months, as my husband has been spending every spare hour on our new home, trying his best to get us moved in before Christmas. I’m so beyond thankful for him!! And for the extremely long days and nights he has put in, these last few months – all for us. And I’m thankful that it’s all coming to end, soon, as we work to finally get this house in working order! Despite plumbing issues, 60 mph winds busting open our knobless, weather-trimless doors (f ..read more

I’m on a blogging roll, this morning!! Wanted to get these up before we take down and move my computer station (no telling when it’ll be set back up in our new house)! So. This. Red. Dress. It’s hands-down my favorite red dress I have ever, ever worn!! Like, in all my life. Donna Morgan is the QUEEEEEN Bee of the dress world, and just killed it with this one. We recently celebrated our 18th wedding anni, and I had all these grand ideas of how I would fix my hair, but in the end I did what I always do: I wore the same messy bun I put up when I rolled out of bed, BUT I managed to frantically wet ..read more

We moved into our new farmhouse, this past weekend!!!! Cannot even believe the day finally arrived – it’s been a looong, challenging, two+ years. If you’re a newer follower, you probably don’t know the backstory of this whole building thing. Just over two years ago, my li’l fam and I were getting ready to move to Europe for a few years, but the week we were supposed to move, my husband’s father was killed in a car accident. We ended up moving to Bend, Oregon, instead, so my husband could run his father’s business in town. We moved in with my mother-in-law the very day the accident happene ..read more

Um, where did November go??? What a whirlwind this month has been! So, we’ve been working like mad to get into our house before Thanksgiving, but it’s just not gonna happen. We’re disappointed of course, but it’s hard to stay feeling that way when your FAVORITE TWIN BROTHER & FAM is coming all the way from Georgia to spend the holiday with you!! I’m so excited to see him, my hilarious sister-in-law, and their two li’l cuties, I don’t care what house we’re in – it just don’t matter a hill o’ beans, do it. So, we’re gonna live it up amid towers of boxes, and make the best memories toge ..read more

Happy November! This month is going to be so crazy-busy for us with our move, double birthdays, and family coming to stay with us for Thanksgiving!! So, there miiiight be a little bit of radio silence going on, here on zee ol’ blog. Hoping to get one more post up before the mayhem! Currently wearing some of this season’s favorites: suspender/jumper dresses, men’s sweaters (I keep gravitating to the men’s sweater section!!), berets, and patent booties!! I looked at a bunch of patent pretties before deciding on these. I loved, loved, loved the ones by Rag & Bone, but was super excited to fin ..read more

There is nothing like going through photos of your littles in a quiet house. My heart is both exploding, and aching at the same time, right now! I just love my babies so, so much, and need to mama-gush a little. They’re such good – and I mean, gooood – kiddos. Are they perfect? Nope. But they listen, and care about obeying, and are kind to others, and genuinely love each other. And they’re doing exceptionally well in their very first year in private school (I have homeschooled them all, until this year)! They work hard at their academics, as well as their sports, and I keep getting such high p ..read more

Juxtaposed this look, like ya read about (pun intended). Baseball cap with a blazer, cropped jeans n’ combat boots, blues with a li’l blush pink…. I literally just threw them together, ‘cuz I felt like it, and then my literary brain realized all the contrasts, later. Ha! Hey, when comes to fashion and personal style, play ball or go home! I’m always gonna play ball. Just a reminder that you can receive 15% off of all Daniel Wellington purchases now through Dec. 31st with code: CALLHERSMITH. It’s literally my favorite watch I’ve ever owned (love the sapphire blue hands!). Ch ..read more
