I (32M) was diagnosed with B-ALL ph+ last February. Since then, I've undergone one cycle of induction and am awaiting another cycle. I'm an introverted person who has experienced depression and anxiety due to this process, but thankfully, I have the support of my wife. On the recommendation of my social worker, I've started a vlog as a form of therapy. It's been really helpful to be able to vent my thoughts there. If you'd like to drop by and leave some positive vibes, I'd really appreciate it. Or if you have any questions or words of support, feel free to share. My videos are in Spanish, but ..read more

Hi! I'm just wondering if chemodrugs (TKI's) are the only option available to lower down the WBC for CML patients? Or does it have any form like via vial or injectible? For a context: It's very hard for me to swallow because I also have goiter. I'm even having a hard time swallowing my own saliva. ? submitted by /u/fivebottlesoju [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Pregnant with Leukemia

I was diagnosed with AML + a myeloid sarcoma in early February of this year. I am also currently pregnant with my first child (~18 wks at diagnosis). I have gone through one round of chemo and will be going back for another round in April. Has anyone been through chemotherapy while pregnant? My doc also says I am going to need a BMT soon after the baby comes. I am having a hard time visualizing how I will be able to bond with a newborn while undergoing more chemo and a transplant. submitted by /u/lydbrock [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Good day everybody, I've posted before that I've been dealing with pneumonia since January and till today I'm still dealing with pneumonia, maybe, I've gotten checked for viruses, bacterial infections, and fungal infections. So Far they have come back negative and I even had a bronchoscopy, and they have not found anything. I'm awaiting a biopsy result, at this point I believe it might be GVHD. It seems to have gotten worse when I began tapering off prednisone. I'm at 5mg of prednisone now, but I need oxygen 24/because my oxygen saturation drops to 88 sitting up. I'm currently on 4 liters of ..read more

I posted a while ago https://www.reddit.com/r/leukemia/comments/1az7jkq/dad_diagnosed_with_aml_and_feeling_very_lost_and/ My dad (M64) was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia around the end of February. I tried convincing him and his doctor to go to the Emergency Room, but they both said it was unnecessary. So his consultation appointment is this monday (March 25th), and he's seeing like 6 different doctors to talk about different steps and everything. I'm his son, (M32), my mom and I will be going with to his appointments. I am compiling a list of all questions I can think of and are i ..read more

I have never posted on Reddit before but I have found this page very helpful and was wondering if anyone was being treated for ALL and is on the ALL-Together1 trial ? Also when reaching maintenance I have been told that you have to avoid contact with sun for the rest of your life , is this the case after going through chemotherapy ? Having been in and out of hospital so much the last 6 months I have been desperate to fly out to a beach somewhere haha . Would be great to hear about other people’s experiences being treated for ALL as I was 20 at the time of diagnosis and had never heard/ seen a ..read more

*Repost from mastocytosis due to medical uncertainty. What should I focus on? I don't have a good relationship with (d)octors, I've been if it ignored and traumatized by the medical community. I'm a little nervous and I'm kinda scattered brained now. What should I focus on? We're thinking I have SM or MCL due to my symptoms. I do have a fabulous Pain Doctor, and he's doing everything I ever wanted this month. submitted by /u/Longjumping_Dirt960 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Post transplant symptoms?

Does anyone get hot flush in daily base? Before the transplant I get that feeling only when I get anxious or claustrophobic. After the transplant I started to get really flushed all of a sudden, that hot feeling above my neck and head, then decrease it with cold air etc. It affects my skin, my face becomes red. It is not that big of an issue but I am curious. submitted by /u/reznik0v [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
