The release of Absynthe, my new decopunk novel, is finally here. Naturally, that includes the audio version, which is available now on Audible.com. I’m particularly excited about this audio release, as I’m a long-time admirer of the book’s narrator, Simon Vance. Simon is a multi-award winning narrator who I first came across in his work voicing Darwin’s Elevator, Jason Hough’s New York Times bestselling sci-fi thriller. I got pretty lucky. Through an introduction to Simon via Jason himself, I was able to sneak my way onto his busy scheduled, and the results are fantastic. Just check out the ..read more

Today is the US and Canadian release day for Absynthe, my new decopunk novel under my (also new) sci-fi pseudonym, Brendan P. Bellecourt! Liam Mulcahey, a reclusive, shell-shocked veteran, remembers little of the Great War. Ten years later, when he is caught in a brutal attack on a Chicago speakeasy, Liam is saved by Grace, an alluring heiress who’s able to cast illusions. Though the attack appears to have been committed by the hated Uprising, Grace believes it was orchestrated by Leland De Pere—Liam’s former commander and the current President of the United States.  Meeting Grace ..read more

Introducing Brendan P. Bellecourt

I’ve been in stealth mode with this announcement, but it’s finally time to reveal the pseudonym I’ve chosen for my science fictional work: Brendan P. Bellecourt. Why the pseudonym? Well, the change is something I debated for quite some time. Part of me didn’t want to give up a single name, but there are benefits to establishing a pseudonym, the most important one being that it provides clarity in terms of what sort of story readers can expect from the various names. In my case, I felt that epic fantasy was different enough from the sorts of books I want ..read more

From now until July 13th, the release date for A Desert Torn Asunder, I’m selling them for a discount: $149.50 instead of $166 (a 10% discount). Keep in mind that ..read more

A Desert Torn Asunder Cover Reveal!

With A Desert Torn Asunder, the finale of The Song of the Shattered Sands, releasing next summer, the art team over at DAW Books have been working hard to deliver a standout cover. Micah Epstein reprises his role as artist, with Adam Auerbach providing the art direction. I think what they’ve come up with is quite stunning. Çeda is shown wearing her White Wolf armor, which we’re introduced to in the opening pages of Twelve Kings.  I love her intensity. And while I knew it was going to be a challenge to somehow capture that the desert itself was threatened in this final book, Mic ..read more

I’ve got some really exciting news to share! For a while now, I’ve been noodling what comes next for me in fantasy after the Shattered Sands series is wrapped up. What I came up with is a new epic fantasy trilogy called The Precipice Sequence. I eventually wrote a synopsis, and my agent and I batted it back and forth. When we were happy with it, I pulled together some sample chapters and bios for the main characters, and my agent and I pitched to my editor and publisher, Betsy Wollheim of DAW Books. Long story short, she loved it and bought it! I’m really excited to write this story. In ..read more

Hey everyone! Today is release day for When Jackals Storm the Walls in the US and Canada. The UK release in in two days! My publicist over at DAW Books just forwarded me a bunch of great links and news about the book release, and I thought I’d share. Here’s an interview I did with Jean Booknerd.
