I've been posting here for a couple of weeks in regard to my binge (almost nightly, for months) disorder. I have an idea that might help someone. It could be lame, but it's worth a try. I was going to eat another slice of pizza earlier. I had been shopping for groceries online earlier, and saw these breaded mushroom patty things. Sounded pretty good ? they were terrible! The texture. The flavor. Ugh. So for some reason they popped into my head before I got another slice. I Literally shuddered. ? So that was a pass. We'll see if it holds up tonight. Maybe try it with something that you ended u ..read more

I gained weight after taking Prozac and it triggered my binge-eating disorder. Help.

Hi, I was prescribed Prozac last month (lowest dose) and it triggered my eating disorder. After 3-4 weeks after taking the meds.. I gained 7 pounds and I stopped taking it. I take Wellbutrin which helps my eating disorder, however I still feel out of control with my eating. Now I’ve gained 10lbs total. I keep waking up craving PBJ sandwiches and would ate 3 in one day, go through a loaf of bread in 3-4 days. I would promise myself to take a break from eating sugar for 3 days max to balance myself out but I’d find myself getting ice cream or a sugary latte. Idk how to stop and it’s scaring me ..read more

I'm so proud of this! I worked out alot today, I did 15 minutes if boxing practice with no breaks, about 40 minutes of strength training, and 28k steps. Because of all this exercise is was really hungry today ? Instead of binge eating on junk food like cookies, ice cream, and brownies like I used to, I overate on healthy food instead! I'm proud of myself because I know this is a great step in the right direction:) submitted by /u/Quirky-Froyo5855 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Alternative to gum?

I feel like I constantly need to be eating something. Chewing preferably. But gum is a nightmare once the flavor wears off - is there an alternative? Chewing ginger is the closest i’ve got. Mints are ok but I always end up chewing them so they last 2 seconds. submitted by /u/MakeRedditSafariGood [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Inspiring anti binge resources that are not super popular?

I’m interested in resources that hav helped you, that are not mainstream or touted by a large number of people. I personally have been super inspired by Tara kemp on Instagram whose podcast reconnect radio is very unique genuine and inspiring. She thinks that taking the focus on to living a full soulful life naturally decreases the urge to binge without even having to focus on the food. I feel like I’ve discovered a hidden treasure and look forward to every episode so much. submitted by /u/hiwithout [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does anyone else think that keeping count of binge free days is counter productive?

First and foremost I think its great that people keep streaks and it really seems to help alot of people so not trying to dispute this approach. It has never helped me ,howewer, and I think I can see why. Keeping a streak kind of means putting your binge eating behaviours on a pedestal and makes you obsess over it more. If you do eventually break the streak it feels like being back to square one and its difficult to see it in a positive light and see how many days you remained binge free, atleast for me. I can never see the positive side of it since I always obsess over small failures instead ..read more

Last summer after unhealthily restricting has led me to binge and constantly think about food. Some days I eat so much I drive myself sick to the stomach and then when that feeling goes away I eat just a little more to feel full again. I always think about food and staying away from food for an hour is a challenge. I can’t even be in the living room because it’s next to the kitchen which leads to easy food access and I don’t want to stay in my room all day to stop myself from binging. I don’t know what to do, I try eating healthy but then in a couple of days I binge again. If anyone has any a ..read more

Not to proud that I binged today. Just binged because I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to make something for myself to eat so I ordered something. It’s not the worst since the whole day hasn’t gone to waste yet. I tried to going on my 30 min run but it ended up becoming a walk but I’m just I glad got out of the house. I’d normally just stay inside till the next day. Binging really does mess up my mornings sometimes, it kinda feels like because I woke up and went back to sleep after I binged. Which could mess with my sleep at night and I noticed that when I went to workout that I felt out br ..read more

Im 26(nb) and I’ve been struggling with BED for a very long time. I somehow managed to get better when I was 19/20 but then through the pandemic it got bad again and I haven’t been able to keep it under control since. Now I’m at my heaviest ever and I have decided that I HAVE to lose weight but that decision somehow made the binging even worse and as much as I have a sustainable and varied diet and I’m not making any aggressive restrictions but still I feel that obsessive need to stuff my body with anything at all. I try to distract myself or drink water or eat fruit if I really need to but i ..read more
