Recent research has pointed to a correlation between high Facebook usage and an increased risk for eating disorders. This research study appeared in the January 2014 issue of the International Journal of Eating Disorders. The study included 960 college women and found that Facebook use was associated with the maintenance of weight/shape concerns and anxiety compared to an alternate Internet activity.
