Now that I have successfully trekked both Everest Basecamp and Kilimanjaro summit, I can give my comparisons, and my opinion on which was more difficult. Spoiler alert: BOTH were difficult. Neither is just a cute and scenic walk through a National Park, or a trendy jog around Runyon Canyon. Both are intense, extreme, and do require a certain level of physical and mental preparedness. After completing EBC using the packing list our tour company gave us, I decided to make this extensive essential Everest  Basecamp packing guide, to help you all out more than I was helped. Madagascar is definitely a destination that should be on your bucketlist, but also one that you should be well prepared for. Let me just start this post out by saying that you have to do a Bhutan tour in order to visit the country. You cannot just go there and explore on your own. This is likely part of the country’s aim to protect their culture and holy sites, since it’s one of the few non over-tourism destinations in the world!
