Advice needed! After having natural hair for a few years, I decided to return to 2 step Henna & Indigo dying, having previously used this method to great results. The henna application went great, but unfortunately, I seem to have gotten a bad/stale batch of Indigo - I had my suspicions while mixing, the top didn't oxidise the way it had in previous dye mixes, and after 4 hours on my hair it really didn't take well. It's now been 2 days and the henna hues are starting to show through. In all of my previous 2 step applications, I've achieved a really lasting, deep black, and only had to oc ..read more

Has anyone had any success removing henna/indigo?

Perhaps using ColorB4/Colour Oops? I used to just use plain henna on my naturally mid brown hair but as I started getting some greys I started using mixed that had indigo in. I regret this as my hair is quite dark now. I miss the deep rich red tones. Wondering if trying to strip with ColorB4 and then doing repeated henna applications might work? submitted by /u/twattyprincess [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello everyone! My partner is an avid henna artist, and has had a vested interest in the practice for many years now. The problem is that they have encountered numerous (and frequent) instances now of individuals calling them racist and other such insults for practicing henna because they are caucasian. It makes them no longer wish to express themself in this way and downright frightens them into not practicing henna anymore. I personally believe that gatekeeping art in its many forms is at best misguided and at worst harmful and damaging to not only the individuals recieving scrutiny, but th ..read more

I purchased a three pack of cones by hennacaravan because I heard they were recommended. But when I used them they didn't stain well. it started a faint yellow and stained a orange/yellow color. I usually buy from hennabynayalesh and her cones are so good. they stain an orange and then dark brown. Anyone else had this problem? submitted by /u/GuardSpiritual9446 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone! I love the look of a bright red henna stain, rather than an orange or brown. I have medium-tan skin. Does anyone know of a brand or seller who makes henna that stains red? Thanks so much in advance! submitted by /u/liliqs [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I just want to know if it’s culturally appropriate for me to do so. It’s getting warmer and warmer but I don’t want a tattoo, and I don’t want people asking me about them, and I find henna art beautiful, I’d would love it as a temporary cover up. submitted by /u/slavdaddyuwu [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
