Training for my first Half Marathon, to be run in April, and I’m on track and feeling good. But, I have found that around Mile 5/5.5 my left foot goes numb. I usually run through it and have no problems with it afterwards. Am I doing something wrong? How can I prevent this? I run in ASICS Gel Venture shoes. Thanks!

65 days to 1st Half Marathon...am I on right training plan? 28F. I’ve never been a runner but lately have started to enjoy it more. I ran my first race in November - 5 miler turkey trot, with a 9:30 pace. It was a bit of a struggle but I finished. Since then I had been running 4 or 5 miles a week comfortably and decided I would try to start training for a half that is in mid-April. I started with Hal Higdon half training plan for beginners but after the first week I got bored and felt I could do more. My first week was a total of 12 miles and last week was 13 miles. I found another plan onli ..read more

43/M. I started running last summer and ran my first half September 2019. Due to injuries training was spotty and I struggled through the race. 2:23:35 but I learned a considerable amount. I bought a hydration vest and my own energy. I had a minor back muscle issue in January so training stopped to allow it to heal. Saturday at 5:30am I arrived at start line temp was 43 degrees. I was worried about being cold and how it would impact my time. Once the race started I just focused on my race. I warmed up by mile 3 and I felt pretty good. At 6.9 miles my avg pace was 9:38. I felt really good so I ..read more

Hi everyone, I recently ran my first half marathon in November at Joshua Tree which was pretty exciting. Since the race I haven’t ran much but am thinking about signing up for a half marathon again for April 5th. My question is if this is enough time to train. Last time I trained for 4 months so this is cutting it in half.

Hi everyone! So I’m running my 3rd half marathon in May and I’m starting my training program next week, but the difficulty level is greater on this one. I’m trying to shed some weight while training (currently around 235). I currently am on WW, but have been frustrated. I’m not really losing like I used to (lost 100# on WW at one point). They keep changing the plans around and I’m not so sold on the zero point foods (food has calories, right)? I’m wondering what the group thought is on WW vs MFP for tracking? I’ve used both before but want to see what others thoughts are.

Hi all, hope I’m ok to post this here. For my final year dissertation project at university, I’m exploring cheating in mass participation running events (marathons and half marathons, parkrun, fun runs etc.) and whether it is becoming an issue in the running community. I have created an online survey and my aim is to get 500 participants. So far, I’m halfway to this total. The survey is approximately 10 minutes. If anyone would like to complete it, I would massively appreciate the support. https://ntusurvey.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/cheating-in-mass-participation-running Thanks

I'm not sure if this is the right sub, please let me know if not! I've begun training for a half marathon and I have been running for a few years but usually not more than 5 or 6 mile runs at most. Recently, since I've started training, my energy level has been very very low despite getting more than enough sleep. How could I avoid feeling like this? Is it my diet or something else? Let me know if you need more details! Thank you guys
