Dehumidifier drain into hydro system?
Reddit » Hydroponics

Just wondering what the downside to this would be. Right now I’m draining the dehumidifier bucket 1-2x daily because running a constant drain hose is not really possible in the room. Obviously, the potential of overflowing the system (rDWC system with ~35gal total capacity) is a concern, but I could control that with a float valve that would bleed excess back into the dehumidifier bucket which I’d have to manually drain if it happened. Any thoughts? submitted by /u/TheGoodLordsTaint [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Feeder Hose Placement for Dutch Buckets?

Hey gang... I've got my first dutch bucket system up and running and it seems to be doing just fine, but I wonder exactly where I should place the feeder hose? I am worried that if I place it so it dumps directly on the rock wool I might be making the plant stalk rot (too wet) over the long term? Also, I'm feeding for 30 minutes every four hours. That sound right? Thanks! https://preview.redd.it/x4xjriqe5xxc1.png?width=3146&format=png&auto=webp&s=9e7d9149d14d8b1e3c00969289a868e0e927acb4 submitted by /u/davidthiel [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hydroton pellets vs perlite for dutch bucket tomatoes

I'm ordering some 3 gallon beto buckets and I already have some hydroton pellets so I'm wondering what are the pros and cons on using perlite with paint strainers or cut bigger holes in the tops for the beto buckets (dutch buckets) and use hydroton pellets in net pots. The other thing I'm wondering about is whether to have a continuous flow with air stones or flood and drain with no air stones. submitted by /u/RawEggEater1956 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hot pepper kratky method question and update.

Hello fellow growers, got a quick question on this plant. My first batch of peppers but only took a picture of one. I don’t remember which pepper it is but it can either be habanero, scorpion or Carolina reaper. As for the root system, I seen a little brown in it and was wondering if that’s okay or not? Also new roots are coming along so should I run H2O2 to clean them a bit or just let the new roots run its course? I dialed it down to 5.75-6.25PH and EC was around 3-3.5. submitted by /u/New-Appearance-9905 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
