Is there a benefit to either? Or is one better than the other? My frogbit is like duckweed and doubles overnight, so I’ve just contained it with my red floaters. But is there a preferred way to have them? Is one better than the other re tank health?

I currently have an iwagumi style tank and just added some ember tetras. I'm wondering what species I can have to clean the bottom of the tank for any missed pellets that fall down to the substrate. Would corys be compatible with fluval stratum as a substrate and once the carpet fills out would it give the corys trouble or vice versa. Any other species are recommended as well.
The tank is a 33 gallon cube (assuming 28ish gallons counting aquascape). For reference I ideally want the ember tetras as the only species for the top area of the aquarium and then a bottom dwelling species to help kee ..read more

This is a scape I’m doing for a friends birthday, Do you think I need to add more wood on the left? And don’t think the rock looks out of place? I’m taking my time scaping it and 9 of my local fish stores don’t have any plants ? so I have time to mess around, I am planning on adding stems in the back to cover the glass completely where it fades lower to the right, a mix between red and green, loads of crypts, anubias and java fern in between the wood and some moss covering some parts of the wood, maybe some hanging Monte Carlo on the thicker pieces of wood, for carpet mini hair grass, an ..read more

Had to weigh down this piece of wood despite boiling it for an hour and a half. Looking for plants that could cover up the weights!

This will be my blue neocaridina tank (4 gallons). Overall it was a very fun experience to try and make the arch stand by itself. The sand mixed a bit in the front but I know that the shrimp are going to mix it at one point.
The light is a tetra lightwave set 270, the filter is an HOB with a filter guard and the plants are:
On the stone: anubias barteri kirin, java fern and vesicularia montagnei.
In the foreground there's only staurogene repens
In the background and on the sides there is Hydrocotyle tripartita, a couple stems of rotala rotundifolia and some kind of alternanthera (not sure ..read more

Got tired of maintaining my 24 gallon saltwater cube so I rehomed the inhabitants and converted it to freshwater! The substrate is sand/gravel from a river in my back yard. Light is my saltwater light with a freshwater spectrum applied - time will tell how well it grows plants. It's planted with various anubias, Mermaid Weed on the back right, and Hygrophila Salcifolia on the back left. Will probably get some more plants for the front, but just have to find the right ones that'll stay smaller.
My goal is to have a minimal maintenance scape that will fill in nicely and look as natural as p ..read more

Had it running for about a week, and just stocked it. I have several other tanks, and this is where the majority of the plants came from. The hardscape was all found locally. The scatter gravel and stones came from the hardware store. I think it turned out great.
