Hey guys, I recently started making candles. This is my second week. I was wondering if anyone has ever felt lightheaded or dizzy after breathing in so many fragrance oils all day? I legitimately almost just passed out after finished my candles and I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone else or I got a bigger issue going on? Lol should I be wearing a mask while doing this? TIA submitted by /u/Junior_Advertising55 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Soy Candles

Hi, I have been making soy candles recently. I usually don't let the temperature get over 225 degrees. I take it off to cool at 185 and add the essential oils and then let it cool and pour it at 135 degrees. I'm still new at this and I was putting the wicks in other candles and I asked my husband to please stir the wax until it was all meted. He let it go to 450 degrees before I told him to take it off! I know they are ruined now, but my bigger fear is do soy candles vaporize and at what point? I want to make sure. He said that he did not see any vapors at all coming from the heat and I didn ..read more

Turning candles into wax melts?

I've recently started turning my leftover candles into wax melts. It's been really fun, and I like not having to waste an inch of every candle I don't burn through wax melts as fast as I do with candles so I had the idea to just turn the new candles I buy into wax melts (it's easier to find scents I like in candles, especially in stores where I live) Would there be any downsides in doing this such as the scent not being as strong or the wax being different?? submitted by /u/stale-bagel035 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Off topics: I was not a fan of making labels back then, but I'm interested in

I’m not the best at making stickers, but here are my two drawings. I know it’s esay to make them, but I’m very proud of it. Since I’m not making candles (away from home), I decided to improve at making labels. If anyone want some free labels, I can do it for free! I’m very bored and need a hobby! I’m not good at drawing but I can make it as aesthetic as possible! I know some of us get lazy with making the labels lol Also feel free to steal my pictures or edit. Not gonna use them anytime soon :D submitted by /u/Party-Ad-1982 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Should I mix the dye and fragrance oil with the wax inside the wax melter?

So, I bought a new wax melter that will help me make several candles at the same time. However, I don’t know if I should mix the dye and fragrance oil inside with the wax, or pour the wax into a metal pitcher, and then mix the dye and fragrance oil. First thing you should know is, the wax I’m using is Ceda Serica. So I would like to pour the wax already mixed with the fragrance oil and the dye inside their vessels at about 215-220 degrees Fahrenheit. Hence, if I pour it inside the pitcher, it would cool very fast, so I don’t think I’d be able to pour the wax in the candle vessels at that temp ..read more
