Rondel Hunte has been suspended for 17 months by the IPF

Rondel Hunte has been suspended for 17 months by the IPF under Article 14. The suspension has been back-dated to the day he competed in the USAPL and will end in February 2025. Trinidad & Tobago's nationals will apparently take place around the same time his suspension ends, so this might throw a spanner in Rondel's plans for World's and beyond in 2025 as well. submitted by /u/ConradTahmasp [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

When to start a prep cycle.

I know the answer is probably "it depends" or "preference" But I want to spend some time running a hypertrophy block just for GPP and basic technique work. So the question is if I have 28 weeks til the meet when should I start the comp cycle. Or should I run two cycles instead of running hypertrophy? (This would be my first meet and I would consider myself weak with my current lifts. I also had to stop training because of a metabolic issue which gifted me tachycardia. And now I'm back to kinda normal). Also if you have any other advice let me know and it is appreciated. Thank you. submitted ..read more

Do you have a question and are: A novice and basically clueless by default? Completely incapable of using google? Just feeling plain stupid today and need shit explained like you're 5? Then this is the thread FOR YOU! Don't take up valuable space on the front page and annoy the mods, ASK IT HERE and one of our resident "experts" will try and answer it. As long as it's somehow related to powerlifting then nothing is too generic, too stupid, too awful, too obvious or too repetitive. And don't be shy, we don't bite (unless we're hungry), and no one will judge you because everyone had to start ..read more

Advanced Lifters Bench Press Form

Originally planned on creating a poll but a discussion does seem better. I have noticed that nearly all higher level bench lifters i’ve meet in person or online seem to have a very particular form when it comes to repping out submaximal weight. Their 1RM bench follows the standard powerlifting protocol with the pause on the chest and fully extending the arms at the end of the rep however whenever these same lifters are banging out reps they do “constant tension” form, fast paced reps really only going through the middle 70% of the lift and avoiding both the lockout and the pause on the chest ..read more
