I have some basic tips for artists who feel they are getting lost in the current oversaturation of music. But before I get on with those, I want to say: Don’t give up! There are many ways to get your songs heard and noticed without having to play the algorithm game to start. It might be too early to say it, but I’m enjoying so many songs on this chart, that several of them may turn out to be big favourites by year’s end. These last few weeks have seen the album releases by two of my current favourites, who both have songs on the BILLCS Top 30, Benson Boone and Conan Gray. While they couldn’t be more different in style and approach, I do believe an earnest approach with relatable lyrics helps their appeal go a long way. Miami Music Week is either used by artists to attend Ultra Music Festival and/or to network with others from across the world who we don’t usually get to see face-to-face. I’ve certainly benefitted from the networking myself, and it’s a blast to see familiar faces again or to meet new ones that I’ve engaged with beforehand online.
