James Gunn is riding high off the very promising word-of-mouth surrounding his upcoming Suicide Squad movie but he’s also soon transitioning to his home turf of Marvel Studios once production for the next Guardians of the Galaxy film commences. Marvel Studios just snagged another talented indie director for Blade. Deadline is reporting that Bassam Tariq is asked to helm Mahershala Ali‘s Blade film. Tariq recently directed Mogul Mowgli, a drama film starring Riz Ahmed that has a whopping 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Deadline is also reporting that Marvel Studios was initially looking for a director who would write the movie but ended up separating the two roles. Figuring out how to react to the Loki season one finale feels nearly impossible. The series has without a doubt been the MCU’s weirdest and wildest entry to date, but this was just baffling.
