The Blade Runner franchise is expanding as Michelle Yeoh is set to star in a Blade Runner 2099 TV series, a sequel to Blade Runner 2049. Bladerunner starring Harrison Ford and directed by Ridley Scott was released in 1982 and grew a cult following. The story was based on a novel called Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep by Phillip K. Dick. A sequel to Blade Runner called Blade Runner 2049 was released in 2017 from Dune director Denis Villeneuve. THR reports that Owen Harris (Black Mirror) has boarded the series as an executive producer. However, Harris will also direct the first three episodes of Season 1.
