The Pentagon uses 3D printing to create artificial limbs, body armor, vehicle parts, brackets for weapons systems, and medical implants. The Defense Department inspector general found issues that could lead to theft of technology or sabotage. The inspector general’s recommendations to fix the security issues have been accepted by the leadership of the Armed Services.
