It’s time to have some fun with photo editing. It’s been brought to my attention that Leonardo da Vinci forgotten to paint the eyebrows. So I decided to add them and to make the colors more natural. The yellow cast is very strong in this one! Ok – I’ve joked a bit. Leonardo da Vinci didn’t forgotten to paint the eyebrows – they were lost a long while ago after the restoration done in museums. I like this photo so I decided to play a bit more with retouching and created a chiaroscuro version. This amazing painting looks good even with a different contrast. I was quite surprised about this! Ask many questions. Learn how to ask yourself as many questions as possible. The first step is to figure out why do you like a specific photo or a photographer’s work. I’ve watched Pulp fiction when I was young. After we went out from theater, a friend asked me: Did you like it? I said Yes, wow it was great. But he continued: Why? Can you tell a few specific reasons? Well, no, I couldn’t. It took me many years to understand a bit the mad genius of Quentin Tarantino. This friend was trying to guide me in the right direction. System requirements for intense photo editing: Intel Core i7 7th generation 32 GB Ram AMD or NVIDIA graphics card with OpenCL and OpenGL support one har ..read more

Today I will use Pall Kris Photo Effects freeware that can be downloaded from here. Once you open your image, all you have to do is to press the sepia button. Usually I tweak a bit the brightness and contrast using the left sliders. Here are few more photos converted to sepia tones: I love this classic vintage effect and I did my best to create the best sepia filter in the world. Do you like it or hate it? Lea ..read more

I’ve released a while ago a free software for applying effects on photos: Pall Kris Photo Effects. I’ve created a video tutorial and posted quite a bit of info on the software page here: http://pallkris.com/free-photo-effects-software.html I want to share a bit of info from behind the scenes. I’ve started working on this software 2-3 years ago and created it mainly for my personal use. I’ve noticed many people were using all sorts of words to describe what they want from their photos. I was receiving requests from clients like this: Make my photo pop Apply a social media look Make the image l ..read more
