Hi Reddit Users, I need your help in a family issue. My Family and I, we would always do a lot of stuff together (we are all adults). But I noticed a couple weeks ago, that my family would do a lot without me now. This week my parents went to the cinema and Restaurant with my brother. They asked my sister to, if she ist wanted to come but she said no. I was the only one that wasnt asked. Which my sister teased me with (but that's normal, my mother and her often make fun of me). After I asked my parents, why that is. My mom told me, that everything is better and funnier when I'm not there. Now ..read more

My great-grandmother Melita George/Marshall, had family in south Africa, every christmas she would write letters too them and now my mother has told me that a relative either discovered / climb a rope across the victorian falls. Her father died when she was a year old, In 1904, she was born 1903. Her mothers name is Emma Mclean, however I cannot find much on her as well. I'm extremely confused and ancestry.com is pretty shit as it is paywalled, and very expensive. Thank you <3 submitted by /u/Leather-Caramel-676 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone, I am 22 F who is the eldest daughter and child with 5 younger siblings. I am needing space to express my thoughts and would like advice on how to navigate this situation. Growing up, my parent and now parents (stepdad) never really cared for me. I grew up with a single mother and below the poverty line. I was given a life full of struggle but from a young age I never let that stop me from growing and learning. I was not going to let pity and victim complex define me. I was dealt a certain hand but I was not going to end with it. So, my whole life, I have worked hard. My work ethi ..read more

Hello. I (M18) live with my parents and my sister (23F). I always sleep with socks on and the socks I wear during the night are the ones that I wear during the day with my shoes. Sometimes I keep the same pair of socks if they are still clean. My sister says that I am a gross person because I wear the socks that I wear with my shoes to bed and I keep the same pair for a few days. My sister all the time wears sandals or flip flops since the beginning of this month. She goes totally barefoot in the house and sleeps barefoot. I wear slippers at home. She also often goes to her friend's house whe ..read more

How to reconnect with cousin

I grow up entirely with my mothers side of the family. I know very little of my fathers side of the family. Recently my cousin from my fathers side moved to the city where I live and I’d like to reach out to her and hangout, since it seems we both like to go out drinking. How should I go about this? I don’t want to come off as weird or anything but I don’t have a drinking buddy and would like one, plus I do want to start talking to my dads side of the family more. submitted by /u/Adventurous_Bed9093 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Whenever my family visits each other, there's a lot of sitting in front of the tv and stagnating. Multiple times I crossed the country to watch tv in my brother's house while he's at work. My brother crossed the country to visit mom and sat in her house watching tv then flew back home. Is my family weird? Am I crazy for wanting to pull my hair out? What do you all do on family visits? Where do you stay? How long? Who plans things to do, if anything? I'm currently looking at hotels and bus routes around my brother's house so I can go wherever I want, with or without them, but would I be abando ..read more

This will be a long one. I honestly just need advice on if I should even try anymore at all with my sisters. Im on the end of the rope hanging on for life and don’t know if I’ve been brainwashed into thinking they care about me at all or if it’s my fault. Please tell me Im not crazy. So… Im 19, my sisters are both about 30. They both moved out in their early to mid twenties, one when I was like 9 and the other when I was like 12. I was a kid. Gonna call oldest sis Carrie and middle sis Jessie. Carrie was more like a second mother to me, and Jessie was like the “cool big sister”. I went to Car ..read more

To tell or not to tell

My wife and mother rin law haven't spoken to the brother/ mother in-laws son in about 6 years years due to a falling out. No calls no messages nothing. Apparently he has moved to another state and since we had last spoke we have also moved. So my mother in law passed away..... Do we tell him or not? Fyi There was nothing left in a will for him. We are worried that reconnecting will have drama again and we have no other reason to contact him anyway and rather not. So yeah should we tell him or not? Like if he cared about her he would of been there for her.... submitted by /u/OtherOpportunity1 ..read more

My brother(20) and I(23) got into an argument over small things that escalated resulting into him throwing his Rubik’s cube at the wall next to me and it shattered. Im currently 2 months pregnant and in my first pregnancy. Being in my first pregnancy and still in the first trimester, I’m extremely cautious and constantly on high alert of my surroundings as I don’t want to ever feel like I’m in an environment that’s dangerous for me or the developing baby. My brother is in a relationship with a girl I’m not very fond of. I find their relationship not healthy for him as they made throwing items ..read more
