This is the second part of this two part blog, the first can be found here. Much of the strap was made in the first section but we cover the finishing of the strap end  and the edges here, The Strap End Cut, stitch marked and with its Barenia lining Assembled Ends skived, barenia cut to length and skived, glued together ready to be trimmed  A pair of Keepers in the making! This strip will for the running and fixed keepers for the strap. We were lucky enough to source a tiny amount of the famous leather lost under the English Chanel in the wreck of the Metta Catherina a little while ago as we've spoken about before. Its a lovely leather, very distinctive in character, appearance and smell, often imitated but once seen in person its pretty straightforward to tell the original. We have just enough for a very limited edition run of watch straps, each one made to the spec its owner has ordered. We thought we'd document the making of the first one. Well 1 month has passed, quickly as ever! Our strap has completed its first month in the wild and has done well so far! It hasn't had any accidents or major adventures so as you'd expect still looks like a new strap. We spend a lot of time looking for leathers that age and patinate in interesting ways and whilst all of our leathers age well quite a few of our leathers are in our range specifically because they age amazingly, specifically Barenia, the London Tans, Russet and Oak Brown. These light coloured, full grain leathers mature to the wonderful mid brown that is so special in aged leather.
