The contract includes design and preparatory works at Benalla, Euroa, Wandong, Hume Freeway – Tallarook and Seymour, and three sites in Broadford on the existing North East Rail Line to allow for the safe passage of double-stack freight trains. Over 600 workers delivered the expansion between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast (Caboolture-Bribie Island Road to Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163) Elimbah), which also includes improvements to interchanges and exit ramps, as well as 10 new higher, wider and safer bridges that were built to withstand a one-in-100-year flood event.
