Return Of The Roadeo!
After a 4-year hiatus, the Omnitrans Roadeo came rolling back to life earlier this month. The Roadeo event offers employees a chance to participate in a skill-building competition that showcases safe driving and maintenance skills. This year the Roadeo was attended by 100+ employees and their families. The event was kicked off by San Bernardino County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez and Omnitrans Boardmember John Dutrey.

When Etwanda B., Coach Operator for Omnitrans was asked to be a volunteer speaker at her son’s school she was a bit hesitant. In the past with her older children, she would donate snacks or supplies for activities, but never her time. However, this time around, Etwanda “wanted to do something different,” and said ‘yes’ to volunteering her time.
Etwanda presented at her son’s career day and shared more about what it’s like to be a Coach Operator with elementary and middle school students.

Applications Being Accepted Through March 6
Omnitrans’ Board of Directors recently announced a Call for Projects. The organization has $6 million in Measure I Consolidated Transportation Services Agency funds to distribute to eligible projects.
Organizations including local authorities, social services agencies, tribal governments, private non-profit, and charitable organizations are invited to submit proposals, which must improve mobility and/or coordination of transportation services. Omnitrans is seeking performing artists (musicians, dancers, bands, poets, comedians, magicians, and other performers) for a community art event on April 27, 2024.
