The new government has been elected. There were many votes for Imran Khan (his PTI supporters won 101 of 266 seats), but the new government now appears to be a coalition of the economically liberal, conservative Pakistan Muslim League N (75 seats) and the Pakistan People’s Party (54 seats). A “do not travel” alert has been issued following the derailment of a freight train on a major route between England and Scotland.
Services are being cancelled and delayed due to the incident, which took place on the West Coast Main Line between Carlisle and Oxenholme Lake District on Wednesday night, National Rail Enquiries said.
Some lines are blocked and a very limited train service is running on the line that remains open.

Newly-built steam locomotive No. 6880 Betton Grange will be used for passenger services for the first time this weekend.
