Final stretch!

I am 30 weeks this week with di/di twins. I had an appointment with my MFM today who asked me how I am doing mentally and physically. I was totally honest in my responses and told her I feel like I've nose-dived the past 2 weeks. I went from being moderately uncomfortable at times to SEVERELY uncomfortable 24/7 whether I am sleeping or awake. My emotions are at an all time high. I am cranky and I am bitter that I still have 7-8 more weeks to go when I feel this awful. Babies are measuring 3 pounds 7 ounces which is GREAT, so I am thankful for that, but man are they causing me pain! She valida ..read more

Seeing multiple tik toks of 2 month olds sleeping 12 hours at night , my babies are 4 months old and wake up 2-3 times in the night, I’ve had conversations with a few other parents and they all said 2-3 times at night at 4 months isn’t good and they should be sleeping longer stretches, any advice ? Climbing onto dining table

My 2 year olds LOVE climbing, and they really love climbing onto the dining room table. I've read on other parenting threads to just teach your kid how to sit up there safely and climb down on their own, but with two of them I'm afraid they'd get up there and knock each other off. So far we've prevented it by removing our dining chairs and putting them in another room. The issue is we're about to move and in our new space hauling the chairs in and out of the room several times a day will be a significant burden. Any tips? What have you all done to dissuade this behavior or make it safe? subm ..read more

How much is too much time spent in a play pen?

I have 9mo twin girls who are very close to walking. They spend a lot of time in their playpen because honestly they love it. It’s the size of a queen size bed and I cycle their toys in and out so they aren’t playing with the same toys all the time. It’s nice because it’s padded well so when the fall and stumble it’s not catastrophic. Obviously I don’t mind it because I can get alot of things done around the house but I’m just worried they are in there too much. If I don’t leave the house that day I would say they spend about 4 hours playing a day. They are great buddies so really good at kee ..read more

Apparently I can't be "two and done" ?

I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this, but when I tell people I'm done after having had twins, very often I'll get the comment "see how you feel in a few years!". These comments often come from people who have two kids and are done themselves? It's like people see twins as one baby because you had one pregnancy. Is this common or is it just me? It annoys me ? but those comments annoy me anyway, no matter the circumstances. submitted by /u/Alive-Cry4994 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Should we abort or not?

We are scared and confused. We have a 4 year-old. Twins on the way, early on. We are worried that it is the end of at least one of our lives. We thought we'd be fine but now we need double of everything. We are barely coping with 1 child as it is. Things were getting easier so we thought 1 more would be okay, and that would be it. Twins never even crossed our mind and now we are scared. Is it worth it? Would it be nice to go back and abort to save some semblance of a life for ourselves? Reasons for either side are welcome. Edit: To add a little context, we are a single-income family, both ove ..read more

Struggling with breastfeeding newborns

Hi there. I'm a FTM of di-di b/g twins and I just gave birth to them 5 days ago via C-section at 38 weeks. Apologies for the long post but I need to ask... Before going to the hospital I bought formula knowing full well there's a high chance it'll take a while for my milk to come in. However it came immediately after the surgery (I was breastfeeding 30 mins after they gave me the babies) and I have had enough supply to exclusively BF from the get go. However, both of the twins, especially the girl keep sucking soo hard on my nipples that I just can't take it. I breastfed them the first day an ..read more

I literally hate the newborn phase

And I feel like a terrible mom for it. The part I hate the most is being stuck on the couch or in bed ALL THE TIME. If I’m not feeding my twinnies (which they can nurse for an hour easily), or holding them, they are crying. They rarely sleep in their crib during the day, just want to be held and fall asleep on me or while nursing. They can be fast asleep on me and I’ll get up to use the washroom and instantly they are both screaming. If I don’t have someone holding them or I’m not, then they cry. Always. I am tired of watching tv or movies, being on my phone all the time. I want to GET UP and ..read more

New Vehicle Debate

We are first-time parents expecting twins and are currently in a car debate. We know we will need to update one car, so we are trying to decide between a Subaru Forester or a Honda Odyssey. Everything we have been reading focuses on families who have singletons and twins, but we are looking for advice from families with just twins. Does a minivan really make life that much easier? Is there enough space in a Forester? For transparency, I’m pretty anti mini-van while my husband is pro mini-van, so if anyone can share their experience about either converting to the mini-van lifestyle or successf ..read more
