2021 is starting off….well, it’s starting! How you feeling fam? Living in DC has been a ride this month to say the least. I tried a break from shopping which lasted approximately 12 days which, considering an insurrection happened 15 blocks from my house, is pretty good! But I digress. But my break started with good intentions I swear. Time is fluid when you’re in the house 90% of the time, but it was during one of those many endless days that I discovered a bag I purchased right before everything went down that I didn’t remember I had. This clutch from Zara is probably one of the funnest bags ..read more

New year, same pandemic. Are y’all tired? I am, that’s for sure. I will say that I asked myself whether or not I wanted to continue this blog or not(this month is my 7 year bloggerversary!), hell, I’m still asking myself that question for a myriad of reasons. But as I looked through some of the looks I shot I realized that I started this long ago for my love of style, and goodness knows we could also use more of what we love as we move into month 10 of a pandemic. So I’ve got some more posts for you before I take a break! When this kimono maxi dress dropped from Zelie for She earlier this year ..read more

My Winter Uniform

It’s getting colder these days, and while I barely leave the house at all, let alone during winter, I still have to get dressed! I have a hard time finding cute sweaters that don’t make me look like a sausage, so dressing for winter can be tough for me. Queue up my winter uniform: sweater dresses! I find them so versatile and can be worn as a cardigan or dress. The thing I love about sweater dresses, I freer, not so bundled up. Which I suppose is not the point in winter, but I can layer up with fun blanket scarves, coats and more. Another staple to my winter uniform? A good fedora. Big hats fo ..read more

Chill Out

There is a chill in the air. I know that the universe will give me a break every now and then with a day in the 60’s, but it’s about to be cold af. I have never been a winter weather lover, never will. Of course, it’s the fact that I would much rather bask in the hot sun than bundle up, but part of it is that I just don’t ever have anything to wear! I know you’re probably giving me side eye over that, but I promise you it’s true! At least when it comes to winter time. But I have made a concerted effort to pick up some sweaters this season so I don’t freeze. I picked up a few pieces from H& ..read more

Burr– It’s getting blustery in these parts! I don’t know where the year has gone considering I’ve spent most of it hiding from Ms. Rona in my apartment, but fall came around and it was time to put away my summer things and break out the cold weather stuff. The only problem is I don’t have much of it. What can I say, despite 13 winters here I am perpetually in denial! There are many reasons I don’t love fall, the clothing options being one of them. It’s hard for me to find something I love that keeps me from freezing. But sweater dresses are something I can get into for sure! One and done and I ..read more

Fall is here and I have mixed feelings about it. I love apple picking and the cool nights, but I miss summer so so much. Especially because we barely had one when we were mostly stuck in the house. But it’s here whether I’m ready or not and there are pieces in my closet that I never wore in spring because, you know, mrs. Rona. I purchased these pants from Soncy in early spring. This was my first time purchasing anything from them, but I had my eye on these high waist cigarette pants and finally decided to take the plunge. I must say I was surprised at the quality considering they were ridiculo ..read more

The end of summer is approaching and y’all, I am not ready. It seems like we didn’t really have one! And with everything else going on, summer leaving me for the next 9 months is something I’m mentally prepared for. Being in the house 85% makes it difficult to find something to wear. The temptation to wear sweats every day is real. But I’ve picked up some pieces this summer that are casual enough to wear around the house but perfect for wearing out, this dress from Zelie for She. I’ve known about this brand since the very early days, and she never disappoints. It’s very difficult to find Black ..read more

The Bright Side

Oooh, chile! The world is a heavy place right now. As if the pandemic wasn’t enough (it’s MORE than), the hatred, the violence, the death– it’s heavy. I haven’t felt inspired to write or do much of anything as of late. But I’m doing my best to hold it together. I found some super cute pieces at Target in the spring. Who What Wear, Wild Fable, they have so many fun brands! And while it took them a while to be fully size inclusive, they’ve gotten to the place where every collection is available in all sizes and I’m living for it! Bright colors always make me happy which is why I’ve been rocking ..read more

As a Black woman, a Black creative, a Black daughter, businesswoman, citizen of this world, it’s important for me to support Black businesses. Not because of what’s happened over the last month, weeks, years, when it comes to the injustice system. But always. Because as a Black woman I have been overlooked for jobs because of who I am, have been passed over opportunities because of who I am, been consistently underpaid because of who I am. So it is especially important for me to support my Black sisters and brothers in their hustle, because I know how hard they worked for it. I came across Man ..read more

In February I was planning my spring wardrobe, future blog posts, future trips. And then the world changed in a big way. But back to that in a minute. As I was prepping for what my spring wardrobe would look like, I came across this boiler jumpsuit from Target. I love a good jumpsuit, and this one is super lightweight and perfect for warmer weather. It has the added bonus of puff sleeves, which I love! I don’t know how I managed to lose weight during a quarantine but I did, but even still if you are between sizes you should consider sizing down. The world changing means adapting to it. Staying ..read more
