While this fight has been penciled in for awhile now, the UFC has been wishy-washy about etching it in stone. As of today though, the UFC officially confirmed that Amanda Nunes will put her women’s bantamweight title on the line against Raquel Pennington. Nunes is currently rising a six-fight win streak against absurd competition, beating Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, and Valentina Shevchenko twice. While she’s been out for two years, Pennington is still rising a four-win run of her own.

The card was headlined by a women’s featherweight title fight between champion Cris Cyborg and challenger Yana Kunitskaya. This bout that replaced the card’s originally scheduled main event, a men’s featherweight title fight between champion Max Holloway and challenger Frankie Edgar. Cyborg won this main event battle by first-round TKO.

UFC president Dana White revealed on Thursday that women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg will face off with women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in her next fight.
“First of all, Amanda Nunes wants to fight her. Amanda Nunes wants to fight Cyborg. That is the fight to make and that is the fight I will make. That’s the fight,” White told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday.

Ediane has been calling out Cyborg for many months now, to no avail. She has been snubbed by the UFC, and Cyborg herself.
In her latest Facebook post, she says that she wants to take on Cyborg, explaining how she has fought some of the top fighters in the world, including Ronda Rousey with only a 7 day notice. However, in that fight, she lost to Ronda in the first round by way of armbar. Ronda only needed 25 seconds to finish off Ediane.

Via reports from BJPenn.com, Cris Cyborg wants to fight Megan Anderson on the big stage. Megan is a true 145lber in the Featherweight Division, built by the UFC.
Cris wants to ensure that the Featherweight Division continues, even after her retirement, sometime in the future.
If Anderson is not available, Cris wants to fight Pam Sorenson, who ranked in the Featherweight Division. Many would like to see Amanda Nunes fight Cris, and Amanda has called for that fight. The octagon will return to T-Mobile Arena next month for UFC 219 on December 30 in Las Vegas.
