G’day folks. We are back for the second edition of fight island with a mid-week card with some exciting European talent along with some returning potential stars. The main event is a potential title eliminator between two rising stars in Kattar and Ige. I’m oing to be short and sweet with predictions this weekend as I think some great bets available on this card. Molly McCann v Taila Santos  Straight off bat here, I think Santos is nowhere near UFC level. Before her DWTNCS fight, which she came into it 14 and zip, undefeated, her opponents combined records were 26 wins and 63 losses. She ..read more

While not oceanside in the sand like we were promised, the UFC octagon found its way, somehow, against the odds and recommendation of many, to Fight Island for the first of four scheduled events. The first, on paper, was certainly the best in terms of star power. With three title fights and a solid prelim alignment, UFC 251 looked to be the best card of the year. It did not disappoint, but a pair of controversial split decisions and a cerebral main event soured the enjoyment for many. Here are the full results: UFC Welterweight Championship Kamaru Usman def. Jorge Masvidal via Unanimous Decisi ..read more

In the APEX’s penultimate show before we sail off to Fight Island, former Interim Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier and gritty New Zealander Dan Hooker collided in a sure-fire FOTY candidate which left both men, unsurprisingly, in the hospital. In the co-main event, Mike Perry and his girlfriend decisioned a deflated Mickey Gall in a fight many expected to go some other direction. Saturday was a bounty of riches and gave witness to several exceptional performances and fights, including Brendan Allen and Kyle Daukas’ bloody middleweight grappling showcase, an impressive comeback win for Julia ..read more

The UFC returns this week with another show from the Apex centre in Las Vegas, Nevada. A very good card on paper with some intriguing matchups. Potential rankings up for grabs in a few of the fights and always good to see some vets taking on the up and comers. As usual, I’m keen on some at some decent odds this week so let’s hope we win some coin! Belal Muhammad v Lyman Good Keen on Belal here. Feel that he presses the action and lands the better shots on the feet. Think Good probably has the bigger power but think Belal can be more clinical. Also when it hits the floor and it will, you’ve go ..read more

It has been the biggest unknown during these uncertain times for combat sports, but with the UFC finally back on its feet — Fight Island is finally a go. The operation was kept a secret for quite sometime ever since Dana White threw out the concept of it a few months ago, but with the UFC successfully cracking down on a recipe to hold safe events, the long awaited confirmation of the island’s whereabouts has finally followed suit. White went on ESPN’s First Take to officially announce that the location of the island is the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and the UFC boss also confirmed that the compan ..read more

UFC 250 is in the books and we witnessed a stacked main card of fantastic fights in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex. Kicking off the main card was a highly anticipated bantamweight bout between Eddie Wineland and the ever entertaining Sean O’Malley. As the fight started, it was Wineland who was controlling the smaller cage but O’Malley fainted a uppercut which forced Eddie to drop his hands and over came a right hand which put the lights out of the veteran as ‘The Suga Show’ walked away. Up next was a welterweight showdown between Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin. This was a step up for Martin bu ..read more

When the full lineup of UFC 250 was announced, there were many vocal doubters as to the card’s star-power. I denounced these people then, as I do now after the fact (my doubt is reserved for next Saturday’s Eye/Calvillo card). UFC 250 was lined with solid matchmaking, and while it did lack a competitive headliner, it was a night of violence to relish while we manage through to next Saturday. It was a night that saw the greatest women’s champion of all time remain dominant. A night that saw young talent excel once again in Sean O’Malley, Cody Stamann, Alex Perez and Herbert Burns. A night that ..read more

In my complete honest opinion, the greatest female mixed martial artist returns to the octagon this Saturday night in her quest to become the first fighter to have title defences in two different weight classes while still being in possession of the other. Amanda Nunes has the best body of work in all of women’s mixed martial arts, adding Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg to her portfolio of devastating ko’s, both inside the first minute of the first round. Nunes’s opponent, Canada’s Felicia Spencer will look to showcase her heavily skilled grappling ability with the champion, and will face a tough ..read more
