Visual Studio 2022 saving current context (tabs,breakpoints,watches..)

Hey everyone, I recently tumbled upon this video, while checking the Team Explorer out: TFS My Work And it´s actually a neat feature that doesn´t seem to work for me. If I click on Suspend with the current Layout and Breakpoints it only saves the files that have changes. All the open tabs closes afterwards which is fine (starting out fresh). Breakpoints are still in (should be cleared aswell) Now, if I click on "Resume" again. All the tabs are still gone. We don´t really work with Work Items. But I want to use the Code Reviews feature and this "save state" feature. Because usually I am workin ..read more

VS 2022 WPF red line bug?

Hi everyone. Lately, I have been facing a bug in VS 2022. When I open it, all the elements in the code which coming from the XAML are underlined in red, saying that "The name xyz does not exist in the current context", but the code compiles without errors. I have tried to unload and reload the project, but it did not solve the issue. The only way to get a temporary solution was to delete it and clone it from the GitHub repository. That way, it is okay for a couple of days, but then suddenly it is underlined again. Has anyone else faced this issue before? Is there any resolution for it? Here i ..read more

Error publishing to Docker Hub - "Could not recognize registry..."

I'm hoping to publish a .NET app to Docker Hub from VS 2022. When setting up the publishing profile I can choose from two build options: .NET SDK or Docker Desktop. Using Docker Desktop works fine, albeit slow and with extra steps. I'd like to use the .NET SDK. I've confirmed the steps here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/containers/deploy-docker-hub?view=vs-2022 However, when publishing, it fails with the message: Could not recognize registry 'registry.hub.docker.com/<username>'. I've tried using just the username, or the registered email address. I've edited the profil ..read more

How to remote debug with Visual Studio an app published to Ubuntu Server 22.04 VM?

I posted this question on SO but have gotten no response. I have a simple ASP.NET 8.0 MVC app published to a Hyper-V virtual machine with Ubuntu Server 22.04. The app is in /home/username/testapp. I published it using a tutorial with nginx. I then ran the app and tried to attach the remote debugger to the dotnet process. When I attach, I get this error: https://preview.redd.it/q953zpaomhqc1.png?width=410&format=png&auto=webp&s=6943bf013790aa81f8fbac39f9d3f3de32e5dcf7 I found a solution to this error that requires me to create that .vs-debugger directory manually. After that, attac ..read more
