Hello! I have an approximately 10-year-old, mixed-breed, 13.5lb, male, neutered dog. He went to the vet for his annual checkup today and received the vaccinations for parvo/distemper, bordetella (intranasal), leptospirosis, and rabies. History: He has had a bad reaction to vaccines in the past so now he also receives an antihistamine shot as a preventative measure before receiving his actual vaccines. We're not sure exactly which vaccine(s) caused the bad reaction, because he had all his annual shots during the same visit. The vet said it was likely the lepto vaccine but we can't be sure. What could this x-ray mean

My cat is 10 months old. I’ve had him since he was two weeks old (foster fail) and he’s never had a good gut. He’s had blood in his poop basically his whole life and has never pooped in the box for more than five days at a time. I’ve spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out why and none of the tests ever give any answers. His blood is good, poop is good, X-rays (before this one) are good. I’ve changed his box to an automatic box, I’ve changed his food to prescription I/d food, I’ve done it all. Anyway, fast forward to Thursday (4/12), I notice he’s not that hungry which is unusual for ..read more

My dog sucked on street chicken. Food poisoning??

My dog, a 15.5 year old lab golden mix licked and sucked on what I believe was a chicken carcass on the side of the road in my small town. I have no clue what it was doing there. Maybe a racoon dug it out of the trash? It was a night walk and I was glancing at my phone as we have very slow walks, and I heard him make a slight smacking sound with his mouth. He has no little teeth up front as he has always had dental issues and they've been pulled over time, so I dont think he actually got a piece of it, no chewing, nothing. He has never eaten garbage before in his life. That was Monday night ..read more

Can my cat who had his eyes removed be taken on a flight?

Batata is a 2-3 year old neutered male cat. He's a mixed breed and had his enucleation surgery more than a year ago, just before we adopted him. Both his eyes were removed but one of his sockets had a hole in it and the vet said it's okay and it would heal on its own. However, it kept growing. Also, he's terrified of being in a carrier and almost hurt himself once from pulling on the carrier door during the 10 min drive to the vet. We're relocating to another continent and can't find any results online on whether a flight might cause any complications to his eye socket. He's going to be sedat ..read more

My cat has a cold (along w the other household cats, some are already done w it) and he wasn't getting sick for a week or two but finally started showing upper respiratory tract infection symptoms. i was listening to his breathing yesterday and found out his heart rate is above 180 (it was hard for me to count. maybe it's 200), and his breathing is just a bit obstructed (but not in the nasal area. idk). before that he vomited foamy liquid all of a sudden, several times, and it's not unheard of for him but mostly when he is really hungry - but it was 1 hour before the meal time. then immediate ..read more

Help feeding dumbfuck pigeon

Found: one dumbfuck pigeon fletchling with a wounded, but not broken, leg. Begs to be let out on the windowsill, even when other pigeons peck him at sight. Dumbfuck pigeon refuses to eat anything and drinks only sparsely. Vet says it's probably due to the pain, and has asked me to hand-feed him a quarter of a paracetamol everyday, along with water. But dumbfuck pigeon dislikes it when I hold his beak, and I dislike stressing him out too much. I am also concerned that I might accidentally break his beak as it is very tender, and frankly also because I do not have much experience pigeon-sitting ..read more

My cav puppy (probably) has a liver shunt, and his abdomen is a balloon, I don't know how much bigger it can get.

I have an 11 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and his abdoment is just, huge. He's been at the vet several times in the past 10 days and it's likely he has a liver shunt. They do not believe it's heart related. We're waiting for the bile acid test to come back. I'm calling the vet again in the AM. Tonight he started vomiting food. I assume due to the pressure of his abdomen. He is energetic and with it. We originally had him on Furosemide, but that was taken away after his bloodwork. It seemed to help very slightly, but not that much. He's currently eating Royal Canin KCC puppy food. I ..read more
