June Carter and Johnny Cash

Just saw on the news that 2 babies born at the same hospital, on the same day (no relation!) in Alabama were named June Carter and Johnny Cash. A crazy coincidence, and I think it’s sweet to see babies June & Johnny. In my personal life, I know babies names Lisa May and Sally Anne - anyone else know young children with classic names that aren’t currently trending? (By not trending, I mean not in the top 20 currently like Emma, Sophia, Violet, Theodore, Oliver, Henry, etc.) submitted by /u/destinedhere58 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Names to go with Micah

I love Micah as a name but it was one of my husband's good friends growing up, so I am thinking of possibly using it as a middle name and also to honor my dad (Michael). What are some good first names to go with it? We have a Caleb and a Jesse (boy) submitted by /u/Lady-Desparkles [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Help us name our baby boy!

Hi all! My husband and I just recently found out we are expecting a baby boy in October. For some context we are due the same day as my late father’s birthday so I would love to honor my father’s name Kevin in some way. Either as a middle name or a first name that is similar to Kevin. My husband loves the name Patrick (which I’m not super crazy about but am willing to compromise as a middle name if need be). Here’s my list of names I have so far: Gavin Patrick Calvin Patrick Gavin John Benjamin Kevin Callan Kevin Callan Patrick Finn Patrick My personally favorite is Gavin Patrick but the only ..read more

Lifelong Namenerd Can't Pick a Name!

Hi, my fellow namenerds! I’ve been obsessed with names my whole life-- planning in detail what to name my Cabbage Patch dolls, pets, future kids. Well, now that we have a baby girl on the way, I’m stumped. Because in a twist literally everyone who reads this sub could see coming… my husband and I do not have the same taste in names. So here’s the tricky part: Baby Girl will be Jewish and a dual US/Italian citizen, growing up mainly in the US. But half her family is also from a Muslim background, so if we could incorporate an Arabic first or middle name that would be great. Last name sounds li ..read more

Anyone ever have a name that came up in a dream?

I think it would be a neat story to tell a kid if they ever asked about how they got their name, if a name happened to come up in a dream that you fell in love with(as long as it's a name you would give someone that is lol) submitted by /u/gatorgamer539 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Puns preferred but not necessary. They’re roma tomatoes. Leaning toward “she” but a good name could sway me to consider the plant a “he.” I will update with the chosen name when it is decided! submitted by /u/soiledmyplanties [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Thoughts on “M” names? Sister for Mabel.

My husband and I are struggling to settle on our second baby’s name and are hoping to get some help. My husband and I have names that start with M. We named our first daughter Mabel just because we love the name (the first initial being the same as ours had nothing to do with it). Now we are struggling to find a sibling name for Mabel that we love. We are having a girl. We want to stick to vintage sounding names (Cora was an original top contender). However, now doubt is creeping in and we are wondering if we should stick to another M name so baby doesn’t feel left out. We would also like it ..read more
