I hate stress, work, and overwhelm. Yet, I have to admit that when I don’t have work. I miss it. And you know what…so do you. Crushing workloads, crippling deadlines are the bane of existence. But gosh so is stillness, boredom and a life deprived of challenge & growth. I don’t know if we’re human be-ings, what I know is that We’re human do-ings. We’re only at peace when we’re moving, we’re struggling, we’re executing, we’re engaged, we’re doing! Leave a person still and he’ll be restless. He’ll be at war with himself. He needs an external struggle, a challenge. Without it, we rust like unu ..read more

How I actually dealt with Chronic Fatigue

“I’m so tired. “I’m knackered. “I’m pooped!” That’s how I talk to myself.   Eyes heavy.  Burden weighing on my shoulders.  It’s a struggle to sit up and pay attention at a meeting or even to read & respond to email.  That’s how I often feel throughout the day.   In meetings I’d hold my head in my hands trying to look stylish when I’m actually just sapped of energy. On Zoom calls, I’d turn the camera off and attend the meeting with my head resting on my table. I’ve had energy and fatigue issues for the longest time now – 10 years or so. We all ha ..read more

There is a tidal wave that’s sweeping the globe. It’s called “Chat GPT”. Ever since I hit my first search query into this insane app, there is little that I can think and talk about. Unless you’ve been on a solo expedition to the North Pole, you’ve got to have heard of Chat GPT. It’s like having the world’s greatest teacher, doctor, counsellor, lawyer, philosopher, and tech genius at your beck and call. Always available to provide you with the wisdom you seek. * Stuck on what to say in an awkward conversation that you’re going to have? Don’t know what to say? Ask Chat GPT:  Your 7-y ..read more

Is there a particular conversation that you’re struggling to have? And You don’t have the right words to share? Or an emotional internal conflict you are in? You feel stuck and are unable to move forward? Then the “HEAL” (Heaven on Land) framework may help. It begins with understanding, What is Heaven? Is it a mythical place in the afterlife with fluffy clouds, angels fluttering about strumming on harps, complete with gardens, rivers, and fruits of every kind? Maybe. However, personally, I don’t find an external vision of heaven particularly useful or motivating. So what is Heaven? Heaven is ..read more

Book review: Four Thousand Weeks – Time Management for Mortals

Rarely I’ve read a book with such deep engrossment.  I underlined and highlighted this book like crazy.  I got epiphanies every second paragraph.  When I reached the end, felt a bitter sense of sadness that it was over. So I picked it up again and began reading it the second time around, reliving those realisations all over again.  Yup, Four Thousand Weeks is an amazing book.   It’s the tagline of the book that got me.  “Time Management for mortals”. Woah!  I’m human.  A mortal.  I have limitations and weaknesses.  No matter how much I push my ..read more

What is my calling?   It’s a question that has plagued our minds and confounded our thinking over & over again, at various stages of our life.   After all, what is the most meaningful and fulfilling that I can engage myself in? At one point in my life, whenever I met someone new, after some small talk, I would pop my favourite question.  I would ask, “What do you think is the purpose in life?” I have received many answers over the years.  The ones that resonated with me are the God-Centric ones.  So if you ask me, the Purpose of Life, it is: Nearness to the Creato ..read more

Being the boss is tough, isn’t it? The buck stops with you. Because you’re the leader, you can’t even complain. Not only do you have your problems to solve, but you have everyone else’s problems to solve too. I know the feeling. I’m in the management team of a few organizations. And I’ve been looking for a way to manage more effectively, without the stress. My search has led me to believe that most problems in running an organization are not because of people, but because of the underlying systems. And I’ve found that by changing the systems, the problems dissolve. “Great leaders don’t innov ..read more
