How long did it take you to become a confident test analyst?

I have properly been in my role for 11 months now. Excluding the time taken to study for the ISTQB. 11 months in and I still feel like the dumbest person in the room ?. My ability to test and understanding has increased, but when POs/Devs ask me how to approach testing with some areas I draw blanks. I had an extremely uncomfortable meeting where I genuinely couldn't comprehend the new work coming through. It wasn't until after the meeting when I went over the notes and had a 'eureka' moment. I find it difficult to be able to ask the relevant questions during meetings and require time to let t ..read more

We are using selenium c# to automate the testing process. We have grid of text fields, the text should be entered in specific columns. While entering text using sendKeys(text), It skips the first character and enters the remaining characters. This is happening only in sauce labs. submitted by /u/Saravana77 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Constant issues after deployment

We constantly get PROD issues after each deployment that are client impacting. Our application has so many layers of different flows and scenarios that there’s simply not enough time to cover them before we deploy on top of the tickets, updates, bug fixes we constantly have to test before deployment. I’m not sure how we can do better, there’s a very minimum coverage of unit tests, no automation at all since most of the issues are edge case and need user interaction. Every deployment at least 5-10 issues appear in PROD. What else can we do aside from increasing unit test coverage and automatin ..read more

Hi everyone! I'm the creator of the YouTube channel Testeroni where I try my best to demistify the leap from being a QA Engineer to Test Automation Engineer and provide knowledge to help the beginners along the way get prepared in the fundamentals. I've created a video introduction to the concept of flaky tests which I deem one of the most important things to understand in test automation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Geu6BLNK9H4 Hope you'll find it useful! If you like it, be sure to check out the other videos, too - I provide all the knowledge for free in my spare time :) submitted by /u ..read more

Who decides which PBIs/Work items should be tested ?

As part of my team, we are expected to have some metrics for test coverage. We have therefore decide to start marking all PBIs that should be part of the regression test with a "will be tested" boolean. Therefore test coverage = the ratio between PBIs that should be tested VS PBIs actually being tested. Our project is organised as Epic > Feature > PBIs > Tasks So the question is this. Who decides if a PBI should be part of the regression testing suite AKA which PBIs should be tested ? In my opinion the PO should decide which PBIs are expected to be tested by QA. Can’t find a specific QA comedy video anymore

Hi, This is very silly but I’ve checked my LinkedIn activity and browsed Google for it and I can’t put my hands on this video anymore and I’m hoping someone here will know which one I mean and send me a link to it. What I remember from it: a group of QA-dev pairs are attending what looks like a counselling meeting to resolve their conflicts. One of the devs however has a new QA which happens to look human but actually be AI. Chaos ensues. If you know which video I mean and where to find it you’ll make me (and my team) happy. Thanks! submitted by /u/Kousagisama [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
