An ode to this sub

I love it here. I’ve been drumming on and off for most of my life (I’m 35), but have been doing it pretty consistently since my mid 20s. For most of that time, I got by on what I knew, and occasionally learned a new technique if a song called for it. Last year I started using Reddit more and found this sub, and in the last 6 months, my drumming has improved significantly, more so than ever before. The biggest reason for that is obviously practice, but I’ve been wildly inspired by the overwhelming positivity and encouragement found within this sub. It’s also encouraged me to pass on the wisdom ..read more

Premarket vs Vater

Edit: Promark vs Vater I'm looking for new sticks to try out, preferably 7A's. I've used Promark 7A's before and they were nice in terms of sound and durability. I see Vater have pretty happy and loyal customers. Anyone whose tried out both which ones a better choice? Price, durability, sound. submitted by /u/Velterro87 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Stretchy kick drum cover with logo!?....

A few weeks back I was doom scrolling through Instagram and a company came up on ads that printed on like a stretchy fabric that you could slide on the front of your kick drum. Which I thought was great, especially when it comes to doing a kit share or using a house kit. BUT THE ISSUE IS, I CAN'T FIND THE COMPANY THAT WAS DOING THIS?!! I'm based in the UK and so were they. Gone through my history and there's nothing. Tried to search Google, but just your standard custom drum head companies come up. HAS ANYONE ELSE SEEN THIS AD?! submitted by /u/FrankenAtom [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

These are from the 60s and as you can see, they are missing a lot of things + the condition of them isn't the best. The snare seems to be a Supersensitive. The vendor is pricing them at 2300€. I find it excessive but I'd like to know your opinion. submitted by /u/R4GNOR [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Good songs to practise rudiments to?

Hey there! Self-taught drummer over here, been playing for 14 or so years. The main way I've practised is through an MP3 player and that's worked decently so far, but I've found myself repeating a LOT of the same fills and rudiments over the years and I really oughtta expand my vocabulary. Since I find playing over music to be way more engaging, I was wondering if y'all had any songs you really enjoy practising certain rudiments to! (please specify which rudiments!) For context, I really enjoy fast, fun, and aggressive genres like hard rock, psych rock, punk, pop punk, garage and 90s alt. Her ..read more
