Coral ambassador previews his Saturday rides at Kempton Kempton 1.30 – El Hibri A busy weekend begins on El Hibri, a horse who’s run well in his three starts to date having been gelded before he set foot on the track. His last run was here at Kempton so the surface won’t be an issue and an opening handicap mark of 80 looks to put him in this competitive nursery with a chance. Kempton 2.05 – Eve Lodge In the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes, I ride Eve Lodge for the first time. She won on soft ground at Lingfield earlier in the year and although she was beaten at odds-on at York last time out, she ran OK ..read more

Coral ambassador previews his Sunday ride at Longchamp Longchamp 2.48 – Baaeed The shape of Sunday’s Prix du Moulin changed dramatically when Poetic Flare wasn’t declared for the race and that left Baaeed as a red-hot favourite for what is obviously his first crack at a Group 1. I was disappointed Jim Bolger’s Guineas winner wasn’t left in as, firstly, I’m sure he’d have set a good pace for us to aim at and, secondly, his presence would have set the standard, so consistent has he been this season. Even without Poetic Flare, this will be a proper test as Snow Lantern, Order Of Australia and Vic ..read more

Coral ambassador previews his Saturday ride in France Deauville 4.00 – Zeyaadah I’m off on my travels this weekend with Zeyaadah running in a Group 2 at Deauville on Saturday. She’s always been a filly I’ve liked and came into this season unbeaten in her three starts as a two-year-old. Her only disappointing race this year was in the Oaks but the softer ground and the mile-and-a-half trip that day just found her out. She’s since bounced back to form over the shorter 10-furlong trip, winning a Group 3 at Newcastle before finishing a really good second to Lady Bowthorpe in the Group 1 Nassau Sta ..read more

Coral ambassador previews his Friday rides at York York 1.50 – Winter Reprise My Friday begins on Winter Reprise, a gelding I’m riding for the first time. He ran OK here at York in last month’s John Smith’s Cup and is stepping up in trip. Things will need to fall right for him, with stall 12 not ideal, but he’s in great hands and could have an each-way chance. York 4.40 – Umneyaat Umneyaat has been doing all her racing in Ireland to this point, so it’s interesting her top-class trainer [Dermot Weld] is sending her over to this race. Although she didn’t get her head in front until her last race ..read more

Coral ambassador previews his Thursday rides at York York 3.00 – Maydanny I had a choice to make here between Maydanny and Baashir and I’ve gone for the former. He has the form in the book and won well at Goodwood last time but obviously that’s reflected in him carrying top weight here, which will make life difficult. However, he is drawn well in stall three and I hope he can run a big race if the handicapper hasn’t got a hold of him. Baashir is also drawn well, lowest of all in one, and off a lower weight, it would be no surprise to see him run a nice race too. York 3.35 – Eshaada This Darley ..read more

Coral ambassador previews his Tuesday rides at York 2.25 York – Ehraz A big four days on the Knavesmire begins with one of my big chances of the week, Ehraz in the Acomb. He ran a very promising race on debut in what is often a decent Newmarket maiden. The winner that day, Noble Truth, runs again here, but my fellow was a little bit green that day, so I wouldn’t be worried about taking on the Godolphin colt again. We then went to Ascot, where he absolutely bolted up and honestly, it didn’t surprise me, he had given me such a nice feel at Newmarket and in his homework.  That win was over s ..read more

Coral ambassador previews his Saturday rides at Newbury 2.20 Newbury – Hukum Hukum is a really good solid horse, in fact he’s one of my favourites. He won really well last time at York, after running a super race at Royal Ascot, and that form has been well franked since too. He’s going to be the horse to beat. He’s the highest rated in the race and he won this race last year so we know the trip and track are perfect. It doesn’t look a strong race. Golden Pass is stepping up from Listed company to Group company and looks like a progressive filly. Red Verdon has been highly tried and the rest ar ..read more

Ally McCoist’s Croatia v Scotland preview: Scotland will need another energetic performance to force result

Our Matchday Squad journalist will be covering Scotland throughout Euro 2020 I was thrilled with the draw Scotland earned at Wembley against England on Friday evening and was so proud of the team. We now need the same level of performance and the same commitment against Croatia in order to qualify for the last sixteen. The big thing we did differently to the opening defeat against the Czech Republic was that we played better in possession of the ball and it was magical to see Billy Gilmour play so well after being given the opportunity to shine. Croatia are a very good side and this is a team ..read more

Coral ambassador Jim Crowley previews his Royal Ascot day three rides Our man Jim Crowley looks ahead to his four rides at Royal Ascot on Thursday, including Mohaafeth in the Hampton Court Stakes. Jim rides Mohaafeth in the 15:05 at Ascot Mohaafeth very nearly ran in the Derby, I felt like a footballer who was just doing up his boots before the Champions League final, and then not making it onto the pitch, but the torrential rain that fell on Epsom on Oaks day scuppered his chances, and Mr Haggas [trainer] just felt he’d rather wait for better ground, so hopefully Ascot will avoid the thunders ..read more
