The Baltimore Orioles were once the Bad Bird team in the American League East. It is now the Toronto Blue Jays who’ve taken that mantle. On Monday evening, the Blue Jays fell 7-2 to the Orioles, bringing their record to 28-31. After four series against sub .500 teams, this kind of loss is to be expected. The Orioles took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second, as Anthony Santander hit his 11th home run of the season. It must be nice having a hitter with double-digit home runs. Anthony Santander puts the @Orioles on the board! pic.twitter.com/PYYw796TLM — MLB (@MLB) June 3, 2024 It looked as if ..read more

A pair of Padres pitchers hit the Injured List The San Diego Padres have run into some injury issues once again as the team has placed starting pitchers Yu Darvish and Joe Musgrove on the 15-day injured list. Darvish will hit the IL with a left groin strain and Musgrove will miss time with right elbow inflammation. Darvish left his start on Wednesday with hamstring tightness but has been placed on the IL by the team with a groin strain. Musgrove’s injury came during a bullpen session where he felt the same pain he felt from his initial IL stint with his arm discomfort. Both pitchers have spent ..read more

by Zach Laing

THIS ARTICLE IS PRESENTED BY bet365 The Vladimir Guerrero Jr. experience at third base has come to an end. At least for now. After making his first start at the hot corner in 1,710 days — four years, eight months, one week and three days, for those counting at home — Guerrero Jr. has returned to his usual post at first base. It’s not for a poor performance, as he didn’t look out of sorts Sunday as the Jays took down the Orioles 5-4. He made a few nice plays, including a sharp throw in the top of the eighth all the way from short to get Yasmani Grandal out at first. The plan is for Guerrero Jr ..read more

The Vancouver Canadians may need to invest in a dome. On Sunday, three Blue Jays affiliates were in action, as the Vancouver Canadians were once again rained out. This marks the seventh time this has happened this season. Anyway, let’s take a look at what the three teams were up to in the latest Minor League Report! Buffalo lost the series finale On Sunday, the Buffalo Bisons scored just one run, falling 7-1 to the Syracuse Mets to bring their record to 30-27, fourth in the International League East. That one run was scored by Spencer Horwitz, who hit his second homer in as many games and his ..read more

The Toronto Blue Jays will continue their surge towards the .500 mark on Monday night when they kick off a four-game series with the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays swept the Chicago White Sox in the series before that and have won five of their last six games.       The Orioles, who sit three games back of the New York Yankees for the American League East lead but sit comfortably in the first AL wild-card spot, took two ..read more

Ups and Downs on the Farm: May Edition

It’s not impossible that I’ve created a format that’s more complex than I’d intended, putting me in the position to clarify some notes in tedious ways. For example, if we’re honest, some guys are basically org guys. Of course, there are org guys who make themselves prospects (witness Davis Schneider), but in reality, a lot of guys look like maybe something’s going on (like Rafael Lantigua last year?), and they never actually become regular major leaguers. The same applies, particularly with relief pitchers. Looking in from the outside, it’s hard to say, “This is a guy we should be watching,” a ..read more

Ross Atkins shoots down Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette trade rumours: ‘It just doesn’t make any sense’

THIS ARTICLE IS PRESENTED BY bet365 The Toronto Blue Jays currently sit last in the AL East as the organization has struggled out of the gate to generate offense consistently as well as a bullpen that is dealing with injuries and/or poor performance, a stark contrast to the success the group found last year. That has led some to believe a potential rebuild or trade-off is on the horizon, with Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reporting last month that a rival executive believes the Blue Jays front office could trade two of their best players in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette as early as this sea ..read more

Blue Jays Nation Blog
by Ryley Delaney

It’s time to call a first baseman up. The Blue Jays organization had a solid day, winning three of five games, including shutting out a team, blowing a team out, and winning a close one. Let’s take a look at the latest Minor League Report! Buffalo blew out Syracuse Before we look at Saturday’s game, there was a scary incident involving Buffalo Bisons catcher, Payton Henry, during Friday’s game. A back swing from a Syracuse Mets batter hit Henry in the back of the head, with the catcher needing to go to the hospital. Thankfully, Henry was released on Saturday, which is great news. UPDATE on #B ..read more
