My doctor said no nuts or seeds for five days before. For seeds, does this mean no tomatoes, cucumbers etc. or just like seeds that you would snack on? submitted by /u/feelin-groovie [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone, I know I’m supposed to talk to my gastroenterologist about this but I havent seen her for over a year. Diagnosed with Crohns Disease. For a while now I’ve been getting irregular blood in my stool consisting of bright red colouring dyeing the toilet water and blood when wiping. This would happen every 2 or so weeks. I never really brought it up when getting my 6 weekly Infliximab infusion maybe once in the past but they never really looked into it, as I have been responding well and generally my blood tests are all normal except for my platelets always being slightly elevated. Inflectra loading doses

I started Inflectra a few weeks ago. I felt amazing after the first dose, a very clear improvement to my symptoms. However I received the second loading dose last Friday, and my symptoms have basically regressed back to where they were before I started the medication. Has anyone else had this happen? Does this mean Inflectra might not work for me long term? Any advice or tips for getting the most out of this medication would be appreciated. submitted by /u/embooglement [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Very sad and confused after doctor visit

Went to see a GI doctor yesterday to see how budesonide is working for me, and it was one of the worst doctor visits I’ve ever had. He hadn’t read my files before and skimmed through them while talking to me and saying that the colonoscopy didn’t show anything but the biopsy showed a bit of inflammation in the terminal ileum. I did an MRI in Nov and that also showed a bit of inflammation in the TI but not so much more. So the doctor said that it was up to me to decide if I wanted to go on strong meds I would need for the rest of my life or wait and see what happens without anything. ?‍? How i ..read more

Questions for those of you who recently switched from Humira to Hyrimoz

Ive been on Humira for 5 years. My doctors office sent my pharmacy a prescription for Hyrimoz assuming my insurance was going to stop covering Humira in April. It turns out my insurance still covers Humira. I'm trying to decide if I should go through the headache of getting re-prior authorized for Humira or just stick with Hyrimoz now. My questions for those of you who recently made the switch from Humira to Hyrimoz: Is the injection more painful? Have you noticed if it has the same effectiveness as Humira? If you have tried Sandoz's rebate program, how is it? submitted by /u/pizzunk [visi ..read more

Weird question

So do any of y’all have any weird habits when you’re on the toilet or weird quirks? I have to be holding something like a towel balled up and pushed against my stomach. It’s something about the comfort I have no idea why but I have to be hugging something. I literally have an emotional support pillow for my bathroom adventures. Weird question I just wanna know your experiences! submitted by /u/LowMassive6630 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Swollen fingers?

Just gonna post this here too, is this normal? Do others with crohns experience this? Ive had my left ring and pinky finger swollen like this the past year (ive been in an awful flare for a year, its causing immense joint pain/swelling). I would like to see a different rheum again because the last one didnt care at all and told me to gtfo basically. I assume I could have more than one autoimmune disorder if this isnt common in crohns. It is majorly affecting my ability to use my hand. The right hands knuckles swell up and it shakes bad too. My fingers are becoming mishapen. Im just scare ..read more

Have you ever had surgery for an abdominal abscess?

Hi guys, Was recently rehospitalized for an abscess. It grew back, plus another one grew where my previous drain was. Care team says it doesn’t make sense to try draining it again, and it’s better to go in and remove it. I’m really anxious because of all the complications that can occur. Has anyone ever had surgery for this? How did it go? Any advice is helpful. Thanks so much. submitted by /u/Thicc-Mints [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
