Graduating from JCAC at some point in the future and wondering for either of these locations whether or not I will be living off or on base as an E-4. Yes I am aware of BAH at E-5 but was told specifically for MD that it was full as shit. Thank you! submitted by /u/TruthProfessional344 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am a butter bar and want to contact my representative on behalf of my mom. She has been trying to get my grandma an immigration visa for 13 years, now finally all her paperwork and requirements are done, the problem is the country she is in does not have a US embassy. There is a state department program that flies them out to a neutral country to do their interview so they can finally immigrate. However, the program has gone radio silent, they don’t pick up phones or respond to emails. I know they’re still working because I have friends whose families are immigrating left and right from the ..read more

Navy flying warrants

Just out of curiosity, are there any flying warrants still around? I’m talking about the ones that flew helicopters in the program that ended in 2013. From what I understand, they were given the option to stay as warrants or become normal officers. Are there any that stayed as warrants that are still around? submitted by /u/OkayJuice [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Using the USMAP

I was checking out USMAP for my rate, and one of the apprenticeships there is called “Computer Operator.” I remember my chief suggesting me to register to this apprenticeship. However, there is something I don’t quite understand: The Competency-Based Work Process seems to be pretty straightforward. Just make sure my W/C supervisor signs in the right places, and I need a minimum of 12 months to compensate it. But how does the Time-Based Work Process work? How do I prove I’ve completed the required hours in each section? submitted by /u/isaacF85 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was recently honorably discharged from active duty. About 8 months ago. Since then… I have found it impossible to find a steady job. My spouse is still active and unfortunately where we live… there’s just not enough work to go around. (Air station pretty freaking tiny area). However when I went back in to the recruiter… I was told that it’s not guaranteed that I could get my original rate back, and that I have to provide meps with a list of FIVE options total to pick up. If I got a different rate, I would have to go back to A-School (as a fleet returnee) but would qualify for rate/shipping ..read more
